Lin Wood's law partners divorced him...because he's insane, and he STILL has a law license.

Yeah, a LOT of people complained about the usage of "Ms." when women in the 1970s began saying this is how we want to be addressed (not "Mrs." or "Ms."). "how do you pronounce it," "it doesn't roll off the tongue," "why do we have to change." It actually took YEARS for male-run media to finally agree to use it, or even to refer to women by their last name, same as men. Rule of thumb: when a group of people designate the way they prefer to be named, it's not up to you to refuse.

Should have been done long ago.I love Obama but he made mistakes on the courts and one of them was nominating older judges to play it safe. That ended up in some retirements and flips that shouldn't have happened.

I don't think when it comes to judges they are going to play hardball too much unless it's nominees from their state.

The other problem was Patrick Leahy decided to stick with the damn blue slip rule which resulted in seats that could and should have been filled staying open.

They also expect Democrats to honor norms while Mitch McConnell and Orrin Hatch can break all the rules in the book with no pushback.

They even celebrate it. “GOP SHATTERS NORMS!”

Also: they talk about what Dems are doing in terms of “violating the constitution.” Which is much more serious.

But for republicans they discuss what they’re doing in terms of “breaking political norms.”

Some of Biden's noms were also Obama noms. The problem with most of Obama's nominees was McConnell being an obstuctionist dick and not holding confirmation hearings. (See also: Merrick Garland for SCOTUS.)https://www.brookings.edu/b...

I haven't looked, but I'll be that over on Gateway Pundit the mouth-breathers are having conniptions and shrieking that America Is Doomed. And ominously saying that this awful situation must be redressed by violent revolt, a thing that worked out so well at the Capitol on January 6th.

"And some of them didn't even go to Harvard..."

Thank goodness. We don't need more any more like Cruz, McEnany's, Sasse's and all of the others.

(I couldn't remember McEnany's name so I Googled "lying blond press secy" and bingo)

The reason why the Biff regime was good at nominating judges is that all they had to do was take the list the Federalist Society gave them and say, “okay.” Even Jared couldn’t fuck that up.

Obama made the mistake in not getting as many nominees to the Senate in the first few years before the gop took over the Senate.

Of course, republicans were doing everything they could to obstruct and delay even when they were in the minority.

In all fairness, Obama had a lot ot do just to get us out of the Bush Great Recession. It was an oversight not to nominated more judges, but he may not have foreseen just how obstructionist the Repubs would be.
