For me, one of the craziest (and most unethical) things in that AUMF was the stipulation that AFTER sending in U.S. forces (but no more than two days after, as if that ameliorates it) the president had to show Congress justification for doing so. What the hell good was that? What was Congress going to do if GWB didn't come through with the required solid evidence, in 48 hours, that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction, or some kind of hand in the twin towers atrocity? As in fact he did not. What was Congress going to do? Revoke the authorization and pull U.S. forces out at once? Declare military action and then two days later undeclare it? No chance. It effectively gave GWB and his administration carte blanche while mealy-mouthing around that hard fact.
We destroyed that country. We created ISIS when we destroyed that country. And not one single person who orchestrated the Iraq war has ever been held accountable. And now we are almost on the brink of becoming a democracy in name only. This is what happens when bad greedy people aren't punished for doing bad greedy things. Other bad greedy people take notice and start planning.
I always wondered about that.
We certainly sold him a lot of Sarin.
We also gave WMD to Iran when Iraq attacked them. Arms for everyone.
Marines stole a lot of those decayed weapons and sold them.
Sounds more like a plan than a fuckup.
Ta, Robyn.
It was treason
The Nuremberg Commission executed people for much less than what Shrub and his cronies did
FUCK YOU!

In 2003 I predicted it would be only one decade of occupation before we would see some light in the distant parts of the tunnel.
Oh boy, had I overestimated the competence of the Bush (and yes, Obama) administrations.
Nice! Thank you.
Don't forget the "Coalition Of The Willing"!! (You have got to be shitting me.)
"Go-old Finga-ah!!..."
He can always say he has to do it to stop Goldfinger.
