I don't plan on wearing a mask after I'm vaccinated. I hate them, and I nearly passed out wearing one climbing five flights of stairs today. I've worn them religiously this past year, but after my second shot, I'm done. Frankly, I'm not sure Biden wearing one vaccinated is helping, its convincing my friends to not get vaccinated.

Godspeed to those who want to continue wearing them though. Your choice.

Yeah I'm not wearing a mask in the summer. It sucked last year. I was miserable and I felt light-headed pretty often, so I just stopped leaving the house entirely. Didn't work all summer. Not this year. Second shot April 22, and on May 6, no more mask.

Masking alone isn't going to stop the flu and Japan has a higher flu mortality rate than the US every year.

If Republicans want to go see their Jeebus so badly I wish they’d hurry up and do it

Agreed. J&J has a 72% protection rate, Moderna 94%, Pfizer 92%. So J&J probably should be used mainly for people who for whatever reason can't do two shots. It's protective, but clearly the double shot method works better - and is standard for several other vaccines.

Yup... I got my second Pfizer shot over a week ago, and I'm planning on masking up for the foreseeable future, regardless.

Thanks to some family drama, my brothers and I have to take a trip to my mom's in Florida to take care of some things. We've all been vaccinated and should be fully protected by the time we leave, but we've warned my mom not to try to make it a social event as we will not hang out with her family (full, as it is, of wingnut superspreaders). If any of them come over, we'll not only mask up, but glove up as well.

I hope the family drama is nothing too serious and that you and your brothers are spared the company of wingnuts. I don't feel there's anything wrong with being (overly) cautious even if vaccinated; I'd rather up my odds of being alive so I can look back and say "Yeah, I wore that mask longer than I needed to" as opposed to getting ill or worse.

I am never going to quite wearing a mask. Otherwise someone might think I am a republican.

I am so sorry to hear of your kitty troubles.

Thanks.

It was stressful, but we got through the crisis, got a new vet and now the old fella is doing great.

Masks, yes. Put a filter in your mask too; if you're still doing homemade masks, a Scott disposable shop towel will still offer a good balance between breathability and particle trapping.

Aaaand, if you're looking for your COVID jabs, go to Vaccine Spotter to find available appointments:

And take your goddamn Vitamin D, since Vitamin D deficiency still seems to track with COVID severity.

I've learned to smile with my eyes so obviously that total strangers "crinkle" back.

Assuming they made eye contact.

There's a Jewelry store here that asks people to ring the doorbell, look into the security camera, then replace your mask as they buzz you in.

Modeling good behavior. Something Republicans will never do.
