That is the funniest one of all! Thanks for reminding me of that! NOWHERE ELSE IN THE WORLD did they do it... but, in order to make sense of a man claiming to be the son of the cloud fairy, in a book written a few hundred years in the future, they did it in Judea...

Commentator Christopher Hitchens noted that the absurdity of this story is the only reason he thinks a historical (but not divine) Jesus might have existed.

If you're making this stuff up whole-cloth, why invent this story about how this dude known as Jesus of Nazareth was actually born in Bethlehem due to a convoluted Roman Census that never happened? Just have him be Jesus of Bethlehem. Easy and done.

I thought he was Jesus of Nazareth? Also, which Bethlehem? The old one, or the new one?

They're already converting old coal mines to solar in WV. Because they used the heinous method of mountain top removal they have a lot of nice flat space where there used to be mountains. It turns out they are good places for solar panels. https://www.wboy.com/news/w...

Of course they were the opposition. LBJ could still let a lot of them not support the bill. Prez Biden can lose ZERO.

I think they will return, if they haven't already. Voters like legislators who bring home the bacon. And the federal government is a great source of money, especially if the obscenely wealthy people and companies start to pay their share.

Soon enough, "Why can't Democrats work together in lock step like Republicans do?"

Well, Republicans tell their rank and file to shut up and vote as they're told.

The union isn't the one calling the shots. After all, there are a lot fewer miners now than before.
