I just had an interesting chat with my neighbor. He's a nice young guy, a single dad of two, teacher at the local community college, a reliable liberal in his ideas. But he has a real hard-on about OHJB. In our conversation I sort of got a glimmer of why. He's doing OK, certainly better than 2 years ago. But he hasn't gotten back to pre-2019. He blames Biden for holding him back, for Reasons. He isn't really able to articulate much to explain himself other than his sense the everyone else got government money and he didn't. I held back from blurting out that getting divorced two years ago may have something to do with his feelings of being setback since I know his ex-wife was a six figure earner and she is the one who pay child support. But as I think about it, I can see that for a lot of folks, recovery is not being better off now than two years ago, it's the sense of getting back to at least where they were when Covid hit the fan. Oh jeeezuzzzz. I sound like Peggy Noonan.

"At the risk of sounding like a 2012 Romney Republican, I'm becoming convinced that polls are becoming obsolete."

they always have been...They are nothing but propaganda, pure and simple. ESPECIALLY around election time...Even ACCURATE polls have an effect at the polling booth come election day...They can either foment overconfidence OR despair both of which have very real downstream effects...They are INTENDED to push elections in one direction or another...If I was in charge, they would be illegal...

"The reason for this, I think, is that poll percentages have nearly always been percentages of people willing to pick up the phone if they don't know who's calling."

YEP!

You’d be surprised how short memories are for these sorts of things. There were people who turned against the Great Society and elected Nixon because of reasons

So again, that negates the poll's results and conclusions? Because it seems like Castro is just an excuse to ignore relevant data.

I would make these motherfuckers sign an OFFICIAL statement that acknowledges that this stimulus money came to them C/O Joe Biden and the Democrats...before they even get the check handed to them...OH, and a HAND WRITTEN thank you note to California and New York for bailing out their their broke-ass welfare-states year after year due to shitty RW governance

Not a problem, they're functioning exactly as intended.

I think a lot of people would feel better if they saw some real accountability concerning the Jan 6 organizers. Many folks are worried that it will happen again.

No, he likes it cause it's extremely hard to believe. By this poll 20% of 18-34 year olds switched from Biden to Trump. That's real fuckng hard to believe. I mention Castro because he's an asshole with a grudge who's trying to get Republicans the Whitehouse.

Good point...Because if questions concerning that ugly business were on a poll, I'd have to give low points for not having pursued it sufficiently. I still think Garland was a terrible choice ...

You can thank the mainstream media who, arguably since the Carter administration (and certainly since Clinton), have taken the position that all Democratic presidents are inept fools or worse.
