As a North Carolinian, my first thought was "that is NOT random". Neither the list nor the process. But, I get it. They don't know until rightthen who all the candidates are. And if they had to wait for some specific deadline, and then get observers from ALL those parties to be there at a specific time to watch an actual random selection of names, that would be the definition of chicanery. Because you know someone would be late, whoever ends up last would object, etc. etc. There is no "best" way to do it! So suck it up.

A post his son was running for. Guess who got moved to the top spot after randomly being put near the bottom. If you guessed anyone except his son you might be MAGA.
