MAGA are the control freaks. "Why can't James Gun just say "YAY MOVIE" and be done with it? They even want to control what other people say about their own goddamn work. MAGA treats the world like Karen treats a cashier that won't put up with their weird entitlement.
ART is always political. Comics and movies are art forms. If you think it's not political, it's likely you don't know the political issue or incident being referenced. I mean these are the people who think Star Wars (ALL wars are political) and Star Trek (seeking new civilizations IS politics!) have "suddenly become" political.
The reviewer from the Manchester Guardian hated the movie. Sometimes I wonder about the Guardian. A lot of their critical stuff on the US is apt and accurate, but some of it is the whiniest sort of political penis envy that you can imagine. I can't help thinking that if Trump wasn't there, the review would have been positive.
Have not seen the movie yet, but there is an interview with Gunn where he talks about scouting locations, and Cleveland had the architecture he needed. He then admitted that he didn't know that Siegal & Schuster were from Cleveland and created the character here.
And, if you will allow me some civic boosterism, Cleveland IS Metropolis - suck it New York!
It is utterly bizarre that people who claim Christianity as the biggest part of their identity (as nearly all MAGA do) can be in any way triggered by KINDNESS. “Be nice to others” is what we used teach children in Sunday school, but apparently now it’s a dastardly plot 🙄
If you've been paying attention, you'll recognize the incredible similarities to Jesus despite Superman being created by 2 Jewish men. That includes his unwillingness to be political, and simply focus on doing good.
They will soon start going to see it so they can boo. Meaning they paid for the tickets so the producers couldn’t give a shit about your anti-american views. Soon they will be buying up comic books so they can burn them. Just like they did with Bud Lite when a trans person was promoting it on instagram for all of 10 seconds. Snowflake; A derogatory name for liberals coined by people who’ve become offended by M&M, Bert & Ernie, sneakers, socks, a coffee cup, a coffeemaker, a holiday greeting, a cooler, Starbucks, Coke, Oreos, Big Bird, Mr. Potato Head, KOHLS, Nordstrom, Macy’s, WalMart, Target, the NFL, NBA, MLB, SNL, Nascar, Univision, Netflix, HBO, CBS, UPS, Minnie Mouse, beer, and check notes; Superman.
While the much too easily triggered Magats are all upset about Superman being ... well ... Superman, what the rest of us should really be upset about is the return of space cop Green Lantern, played by Malcolm Reynolds, wearing that Moe Howard haircut!
I’m glad Ingraham won’t be there! If I spent money on tickets and sat down and it was next to her I would be PISSED! Seems like I’m going to the movies now 🤗
The first Superman movie, with Chris Reeve, holds up and is so sweet, so is Superman 2, again with Chris. I confess to not watching more sequels, but I will definitely go see this one.
The first movie superman was Kirk Alyn, 1940 and 1950. George Reeves followed in 1951, and then played Superman in a tv show that ran from 52-58. Twenty years later Christopher Reeve appeared in the 1978 movie.
As one review pointed out, Superman originally didn't say "truth, justice, and the American way," but "truth, justice, and TOLERANCE." Maggots would have liked that even less.
So the MAGAts think this film is "woke"?
I devoutly wish these assholes would watch "Andor" so I could relish the spectacle of their pointy, empty little noggins exploding. IYKYK

I saw it at a special preview screening for the Boys and Girls club, the charity that Superman probably would support most of all.

“Truth, Justice, and the American way!”… 🇺🇸😎
Pretty sure I remember an old frame showing Superman beating the shit out of Hitler. To quote another movie hero, Indiana Jones, “I hate Nazis”.
Is any mega analyst understands, Superman is an ILLEGAL immigrant (El Salvador's on the line, Clark - shall I ask them to hold?"

Chris was my first, but not the way you think. Poor Chris, what a tragedy.

Superman can't say "and the American Way" when the "American Way" is kidnapping people off the streets and exiling them to war zones in South Sudan.

Can somebuddy please get these snowflakes a safe space? Isn't there a hog waller somewhere that they can drive their 4X4 pickup to?
