Nobody's perfect, not even even our biggest and brightest Corporate Persons. That's why the Big Guys keep healthy financial reserves, insurance policies, and often the ability to write off legal settlements for tax purposes. This is totally different from when you're sunk by an unforeseen health issue or "corporate restructuring" and don't have funds to fall back on because you're an irresponsible Mooch. Here are some conscientious Corporate Citizens to emulate, America.
I'm for bringing back some medieval punishment. Face branding, stocks, chopping off fingers and so on. This would probably make missing a tongue and half the hand a status symbol.
And if you decide to ride in one anyway, and die as a result, you won't do it again. That's how the Free Market operates! (Very much like Natural Selection.)
I truly appreciated the Camel Crush Menthols, which had to have been dreamed up by time-suspended Nazis in the midst of a suicide pact. The damn things actually had a capsule you crushed to access the menthol, FFS.
You need to watch the hell out if you want to continue not commenting. My litter box mate had a former roommate who called to report the neighbor's annoying barking dog. Animal Control told him they only responded if the dog was dead. He told the operator to hold on a minute. He staggered to the closet (did I say he was drunk?), pulled out his .22 and promptly shot himself in the leg.Animal Control called the ambulance when they heard the shot. Many, many years later, it's a funny story.
I guess that's the difference between a communist country which encourages industry yet doesn't entirely trust it, and a capitalist country in which corporations encourage government to let them get away with killing people, and the government happily complies.
The "little guy" gets the shaft in both scenarios more often than not, but at least in China there are genuine repercussions for those who willingly making dangerous products that kill people.
Natural selection also prevents GM from killing too many of it's customers. So it all works out well, on average -- at least it does for those of us who don't get killed.
The belief that America is a "Christian nation" originated in the 1930s. The corporate lords of the day enlisted Protestant preachers in their war against the New Deal - they basically paid for pro-corporate, anti-FDR sermons. That's how "rugged American individualism" became gospel truth for blue-collar Baptists. Turning that into anti-communist (anti-union) sentiment in the 1950s was a piece of cake. It's a dirty little secret of U.S. history that will will horrify and amaze you:http://www.barnesandnoble.c...
OT but Virginia Flaggers flew a banner over Richmond with the word "heroes" misspelled. Their FB group banner pic was retouched to show it was spelled correctly yet all the other pics they posted of the banner shows that it was misspelled. Comments are along the lines of "Who cares if it's misspelled!? We know our Confederate heritage because argle bargle and derp...!" (I dunno, I read one comment & that was enough stupid for me to read).

Krauts are such a gas!Who said irony is dead?

Too quick? Are you sure? America gave it such thoughtful and thorough vetting.

They are lucky they aren't running a Chinese corporation. Execution is common in such cases.Perhaps Jamie Dimon should stfu.
Preet's impressed with an 11 years later disclosure by GM. Oh, fuck him.

Keeps his believers alive and us others dying early.

Much truer than you think.

I got around to reading this a few months ago: http://www.amazon.com/The-F... Truly terrifying how much influence these cultists have had.
The chinese remove execs from having to promise to never do it again. Plus they have to pay for the bullet. I think it's a great system.
