Someone is taking notes on us taking down the traitor-statues, and misapplying it. (I joke they and others destroyed Buddhas, long before this.)

December 24 is also the last day of Zappadan (4/12-24/12).

She had a good long run. I was re-reading her older stuff a few years ago; really liked her style.

Also recommended, the documentary film about her: https://en.wikipedia.org/wi...

Or without a statement at all.

Meet me outside for the Feats of Strength.

All kidding aside, just don't watch "Seinfeld". Or for that matter, you should probably stay away from "Curb Your Enthusiasm" too.

P. S.: "Die Hard" is a Christmas movie, agree or disagree?!?

I regret that I have but one upvote to give for this post.

And I *so so* want to go a-wassailing! There's some videos on YouTube of wassail (& related) events got up to on the other side of the pond that look right up my alley.

Anti-science idiots have insisted that deaths from "other causes" get counted as COVID deaths. So of course precisely the opposite is happening. These people are so reliable, in their own way.

Man, they lost out on so much of that sweet, sweet covid money!

OT, and I freely admit it, but I think it's absolutely necessary to acknowledge that Joan Didion just passed away. Everyone - like all of us here, I hope - who values insightful writing, political & social analysis should take a moment for this monumentally talented lady. "The Year of Magical Thinking," in particular among all her works, has touched more lives than I can imagine (I know what it meant to me). Anyway, RIP JD - you were the best of your generation.
