No seriously. I knew Jeffries was cool as a cucumber from his media appearances, but until this I had no idea he was all that. Nancy sure left us a great parting gift, I’m completely jazzed to see what he does.

What hs going to do is make McCarthy look back over the past week fondly and as the high point of Mccarthy's tenure. Kick ass Hakeem!

That was a show-stealing speech. I’ve been avoiding listening to Obama speeches ever since 2016 because it was too painful to be reminded of what once was, and what became afterwards. But Jeffries is gonna make it hard for me to continue avoiding these things. He’s a very adept speech maker and channels Obama in his style, but with just a touch more street fighter.

How much would it cost the taxpayers to get a Key & Peele skit with Obama and Luther, Obama’s Anger-Translator, but actually played by Obama and Jeffries?

Did all 20 of them get to hit him in the crotch with the gavel or just the ones who didn't vote 'present?'

Not that I didn't enjoy it, but personally, I thought the whole Alphabet Street portion excessive for maximally effective speech making. Jeffries should have stuck to half a dozen or so of the best points (maybe just the vowels).

But what can you say? Dude had all week with nothing better to do than to work on this. No surprise he got carried away.

Also too, very pressed with "xenia over xenophobia."

“Conservatives pan Jefferies (sic) 'rambling disaster of a speech,’ yet gets high praise from left."I’ve come to expect this sort of childishness from the party that once tried to bill itself as The Adults In the Room. Jeffries could have delivered the Ghettysburg Address and the White Wing would have panned it.

I thought it was fun--a little gentle rhetorical playfulness. Shit, we need a little in these dour times.

Funny that the GQP thought it was “rambling”, and yet they can listen to tfg’s word salad all day long. Maybe that’s because the have the attention span of a gnat. Couldn’t focus on the ABCs, even though they claim schools don’t have enough of that.

I am sure that Quevins speech was lovely although how would I know, as I refused to watch it.

He was making sure to include the entire laundry list of ways in which the GOP fails Americans. I was especially happy with F - fascist. Glad to see the Dems saying that word out loud and not being afraid of the tisk-tisking of the rightwing media.

That sounds like fun. Obama is busy these days building his presidential library/democracy incubator thing.

Bet we could get Michelle, though.

I loved the demonstration of "how to create a sound bite in real time."
