Hey thanks for doing these! Jen Psaki deserves her own late night show. I'd pay to see her blog about events. She's kind of my hero these days, the way she takes stupid duplicitous questions and just destroys them. With logic. ^_^
Another Lucille Ball story: When she pitched I Love Lucy to CBS execs, she proposed that it would star her and her husband Desi Arnaz as husband and wife. They told her they could not possibly put on a major show showing a white American girl married to a Cuban guy, because audiences would not believe that was possible. She said, "Fuck that!" (I may be paraphrasing a bit) and insisted. She won that battle. So, in the 50s we had Lucille Ball standing up for diversity and nepotism.
Thank you, and I'll take that advice. Don't really need the cough/cold medicine; but will do the ice-bag on the left bicep for sure. I have to run out to buy a few office supplies, which will take me about three times longer than it should; and then all I have to do today is pack up suitcases for my work-related trip tomorrow. By which time I'll be fine.
And I'll be much-relieved to be vaccinated and have my clean COVID test in hand, because I'm running a live and in-person conference in Orlando Florida for the next week. Throwing in a full box of disposable masks, and charcoal filters for my cloth masks, and a few ear-saver extensions so my ears don't come forward on my head like kids' teeth do with braces.
I've learned how much money it takes for me to do something stupid like work a live show in Orlando right now. It's a lot, by my standards; but I will do it.
The person who gave me shot #1 recommended ice, too, although my arm never got sore enough to need it, although I could definitely feel a little pain. Getting #2 on Sunday, so we shall see.
My mother heard a theory, and I had it confirmed by a real-live nurse; that people with blood type A had very strong reactions, and people with blood type O tend to not.
I'm O-negative and hatin' it, so that's not a universal truth, if there's any truth to it at all.
Here in lower eastern wa, there are far too many people not wearing masks at all. i dont care if you have had both shots- kids and others have not and we need to continue to protect them
