You raise a valid point. When the lead mines shut down in southeastern Missouri after WWII, they were not replaced with any other employment opportunities. Today young people either drive 1 hour to a job in St. Louis, if they can find one, or they work at the prison (it used to be a mental hospital, but of course it is now a prison), or they work at Wal-Mart, or they make meth.
I LOVE the Marvel movies. WisoJoe's description was hilarious and spot on, and supplied to me when I asked for a catch up because I'd missed some critical films and didn't want to be distracted by not knowing what was going on. I'm a Scandal fan, for god's sake, the worst piece of serial tv ever created that I just can't quit. I laugh at myself about it.
You don't have to think these movies are bad to agree they aren't deathless literature; get over yourself.

Apparently, it's offensive because it doesn't sufficiently honor the untold brilliance of the franchise, but what do I know.
