There is just so much dumb in that twitter feed. Moron after moron after moron, all parroting the same RW nonsense about Soros. They're like the Borg, only far stupider...

Having visited Auschwitz/Birkenau the one thing I am convinced of is that the world does not need another crazy fucker with a stupid mustache in any position of power.

She's the lady whose two cats we took as she was spiraling down. I hadn't heard from her in two years. I think she went though a lot of shit in those years. Right now she's still drinking, because you can't just go cold turkey on alcohol. But she's not obnoxious. I hope a place opens for her soon.

You are a good and decent person. I used to direct fundraising for a large organization that provided housing and services for the homeless. Zero tolerance for substances. You had to test clean to get in. So there were people who wanted to be in the program who were detoxing on the streets, which is UGLY, and can be life-threatening. You are offering the lady a bridge to recovery, and that is noble.

OT, Sorry! We have taken in a room mate. A very nice, sweet lady who has drunken away 2 marriages and 4 children and a teaching job. She'd be homeless except for us. She's hit rock bottom so many times I think the next one will be death. She helps a lot around the house, pays a little every week, cooks dinners on nights I'm doing band things, washes dishes, does laundry. So she definitely is pulling her weight. She's waiting for a bed to open up at a re-hab center, so she can titrate off of alcohol, then she has to have knee surgery. I hope they keep her in the hospital for a week. I told her she could come back here and stay to recover, but absolutely no alcohol allowed on the premesis. Then she has to attend meetings every day, get a job, and get her own place. We don't want a room-mate for ever. I know we are enabling her right now, but the odds are against a woman sleeping on the street being safe are nil. Are we being suckers? Does anybody here believe in Rational Recovery as opposed to AA?

Good thing he wasn't asked what the lampshade was made of.

Yep, we need lots of glue, to insure the woods don`t get ideas, and think they can move. What if the dark wood on the bottom get it in its head to move up to the light wood at the top? That would be madness.

I guess I'm lucky, I've never run into a parent like that. They are always quite when I show absolute delight at the sight of their precious bundle of joy. I am always careful not to get too close, however, and I never touch the baby.

Although once when I was at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival, a family that was all dressed up in historical garb, as I was, had a very small baby, about 3 months old, that was so adorable I couldn't resist asking if I could hold it, and they said yes, and I spent 15 happy minutes rocking it in my arms and singing to it. It got very quiet and enjoyed the song immensely, we bonded, then I gave it back. That was a lot of fun.

You get a few that are all 'Stay away from my child' but mostly they just enjoy seeing their baby happy. Babies deserve all the love and happiness.
