Maga mouthpieces screeching about a mayor for a city they don't live in is weird. Go mow your lawn or something.

Why isn't the general ranked choice though? That is when it is really needed! That is when the right wing likes to stick in sleepers to syphon off votes.

Just sharing! No agenda! Never mind my substack full of how Democrats are the real terrorists for flag waving while having no mention of the /actual terrorism from the right wing in the form of kidnapping people off the street and shooting Democrats and their dogs! It's flag wavin' that is the terrorism!

Always agenda was to share. I advocate for such and others to same on my page. Think sharing ideas openly is good. Read what it says at the bottom of each essay about sharing and posting.

In my town some 45 miles NW of Times Square the progressive Democratic team beat the corporate Democrats supported by our ambitious jerk of a State Senator. Good news all around!

Ta, Marcie.Andrew Cuomo's campaign was disgusting; they all but called Mamdani a jihadist. Go back to Westchester, loser.

A hundred like this guy, from city halls to Congress, and we could crush Shitler, MAGA, and their corporate and billionaire enablers.

This is the kind of fire, “normal person” authenticity, and eloquence the resistance, embodied in all those millions who have been showing up for Hands Øff! and No Kings, and the millions more of like mind, will get behind and support.

It looks like the “Muslim = terrorist” card is played out. Rightwingers are going to have to get a new smear if they want Sliwa to finally be mayor.

I hope that future Mayor Mamdani has a safe and successful campaign, and ushers in a new era of prosperity for NYC.

Incidentally, it would be wonderful if all the billionaires did leave New York City to avoid a wealth tax. Those penthouses could be carved up into dozens of very nice affordable apartments. And they'd be lived-in year-round, too!

The backlash is racism at its finest. They point out all the stuff that terrorist Muslims have done as though every Muslim is a terrorist and not qualified to ever participate in America. It's the very definition of racism. And if a white man is a serial killer, I guess ALL white men must be serial killers, right? Can't wait to see the trash that's going to be coming out of Maga and Repuglican mouths in the next months as they show everyone what they are REALLY all about.

Could Mamdani's win also be a sign that people are getting fed up with big money dumped into politics? (See also the resounding defeat earlier this year of Elon Musk's chosen candidate in the Midwest (I'm blanking out on names and places, blame the heat.))

What people are wrongly calling "Socialism" is by proper definition "Regulated Capitalism" which incorporates a system of social welfare programs funded by taxation of capitalist enterprise. A system which has worked very well for nearly a century now, both in the United States and nearly all developed countries. The very same system which those foolishly labeling themselves as "Democratic Socialists" endorse.

I mean, in a lot of those other countries other parties advocating for and carrying out the same policies also call themselves Democratic Socialists, so I think it's fair to call them that.

In virtually every country policies of social welfare have been employed they have also been referred to as socialist. It's not a bad thing, and it's not what US fearmongering has always claimed it is.

There are NO "Socialists" running for office ANYWHERE. The term is grossly misused and has become nothing but a "boogeyman" meant to frighten the uninformed and illiterate.

What? There are Socialists. It is the word that has been turned into a boogey man for the uniformed and illiterate when it ought not to be, but they do exist and they do run for office.
