Working on getting the jab (indeed, jabs plural - that's plural like attorneys general, right?) this weekend and then chilling in a place where we can sit on a porch and read while the vaxen* do their thing.

*not *that* Vaxen - those are capitalized and not too many people run VMS any more /s

Had our covid jabs this week in NH. No questions, no debate, just show up for our appointment and get stuck. Reinforces my guess that insurance companies aren’t going to follow the “guidance” because it’s a lot cheaper to give a shot than to pay for someone in the ICU.

So…fuck RFKJR?

Ta, Gary. The leading causes of death in children are drowning and guns, not vaccines or any other segment of modern medicine.

".... or cause you to grow a second head out of your shoulder like some sort of HG Wells creature...."

I know nothing about HG Well's two-headed beings, but I remember very well Mrs. Grales' Rachel, who slept till nearly the end of the story in "A Canticle for Leibowitz."

I should read that one again. It was an assigned reading in high school (at the time, quite the eye opener for both content and story structure), and I've read it at least 3 times as an adult.

Four arms always seems like a good count to me, esp as someone who occasionally plays music in bars. The ability to play a doubleneck guitar all at once with one set of arms playing rhythm and the other doing the flashy bits has a lot of appeal....

Finding shirts would be problematic, though. :p

I bought a copy of "A Canticle for Leibowitz" from a used bookstore on a trip to LA, having never read it previously. I remember enjoying it.

Regarding the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute:

1. It is not a top-shelf school.

2. Juergen Hahn, an RPI professor of biomedical engineering, would be the principal investigator if the contract is awarded, the spokesperson said.

He is the author of a 2017 paper that found statistical associations between heavy metals and autism.

His papers have also linked autism to having a biological sibling with Autism Spectrum Disorder; maternal use of antidepressant medication and psychiatry services; a mother's surgical procedures and radiology exposure while pregnant; urinary tract infections during the first trimester; and preterm delivery during the second trimester.

So, pretty much everything causes autism according to this guy. The only link he mentions that has any possible basis in fact is people with a sibling with ASD are more likely to be diagnosed with ASD themselves.

As I've said before, Mr Demi and I are both permanently disabled from once-common diseases (mine's mild) We grew up in middle-class areas of Connecticut. But his mom still contracted rubella while she was pregnant with him and I somehow caught scarlet flipping fever like it was the flipping 1880s rather than the 1980s

So Bob Jr and his worm eaten fellows can piss all the way off

Or worse still, you might become Audry II, Seymour Krelborn's blood loving plant in "Little Shop of Horrors."

(FWIW, I much prefer the original released in 1960 over the remake. One reason is that one of my favorite actors, Jack Nicholson, has one of his first acting credits in it. He played the patient in the Dentist's office where his is reading "Pain Magazine" and waxing poetic on the joys of a root canal with no anesthesia.)

They’re probably deleting all the disclaimers that VAERS is unvetted and shouldn’t be used as proof of correlation between vaccines and any condition. You know, the disclaimers anti-vaxxers routinely ignore.
