“Freedom, equality, justice, and humanity are moral and spiritual values derived from our Judeo-Christian heritage.”

Too bad it took a couple of thousand years to work out the kinks, huh?

I googled again ("homeschool SAT"). A number of hits are suspicious: Washington Times, Forbes, tiny blogs, etc. But <a href="http://www.edweek.org/ew/is..." target="_blank">" rel="nofollow noopener" title="http://www.edweek.org/ew/issues/home-schooling/">http://www.edweek.org/ew/is... seemed unbiased.

IMO there are several possible explanations for an SAT scoring difference. Starting with -- as PyschWench mentioned -- self-selection. Of course everyone self-selects for SAT and ACT testing, but perhaps without school/peer pressure, home schooled kids are more selective about it. Only the more successful students will stay home schooled, as parents give up (or blame themselves) if the child doesn't thrive. Dok's books aside, home school parents can simply teach for the test.
