Why Is Pat Robertson Dropkicking Trump Into Hell Today, WAIT WHAT?
Know what conservative evangelicals care a lot about? Syrian Christians. Know who's letting Turkey attack their protectors, the Kurds? Donald Trump.
A lot of people right now are trying to figure out what kind of bribe/extortion Donald Trump took from the president of Turkey, or what the president of Turkey has on Trump to make him agree that if Turkey would like to genocide America's allies the Kurds, Trump ain't about to stop 'em. If Trump was looking for something to make sure that support for his impeachment kicked into high gear, and FAST, he sure did pick it. He's got the support of approximately two (2) Republican members of Congress, US special forces in Syria are telling Fox News journalists that this is the first time in their career that they've been "ashamed," and ...
Et tu , Pat Robertson?

ROBERTSON: Ladies and gentlemen, I want to say right now: I am absolutely appalled that the United States is going to betray those democratic forces in northern Syria, that we're possibly going to allow the Turkish to come in against the Kurds. Erdoğan is a THUG. He has taken control of his country as a dictator. He is a strong[man] leader and, you say he's an ally of America, is nonsense, he's in it for himself.
With you so far, Father Pat!
And the president who allowed Khashoggi to be cut in pieces without any repercussions whatsoever ...
U MAD ABOUT THAT, PAT? We are too!
... is now allowing the Christians and the Kurds to be massacred by the Turks. And I believe, and I want to say this with great solemnity, the president of the United States is in danger of losing the mandate of Heaven if he permits this to happen.
Spoiler, Pat, he's permitting this to happen.
Once in a while, Pat Robertson is right about a thing, and he's not the only one this time.
Franklin Graham, a super-Trump-sucker if there ever was one, is doing prayers on Facebook that Trump will get his head out of his ass and "reconsider" allowing Turkey to slaughter Kurds and Christian minorities in northern Syria.

More from Tony Perkins:
"I do not have a high level of confidence — in fact, I have no confidence — that Turkey will preserve true religious freedom or protect those religious minorities," Perkins told NPR. "We could see another genocide in that region."
By the way, on top of being the leader of a hate group, Perkins is also the chair of the US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF), which as NPR notes was very helpful in working with the Turks to get that evangelical pastor Andrew Brunson released from Turkey. (Second time Brunson came up on the Wonkette today! You know, because Rudy Giuliani was working for that Turkish-Iranian money launderer Reza Zarrab, who was on trial in the US, and Trump and Giuliani were trying to get the DOJ to drop charges against that guy maybe in exchange for getting the pastor back from Turkey. Isn't it nice that they had a wrongly imprisoned pastor to use as a pawn to try to give Turkey exactly what it wanted, and now it is genociding Kurds and Syrian Christians and stuff? HECKUVA JOB, ALL Y'ALL.)
Look at Erick Erickson:
President Trump has committed an egregious act of betrayal in what he is doing to the Kurds. Shame on him.

And then here's Russell Moore, president of the Southern Baptist Convention's Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, who is actually kinda known for going against orthodoxy and annoying the shit out of his fellow wingnuts, but his statement is significant nonetheless:

Can you guess which major Christian Trump-sucking leader is pretty much the only one who's still flicking his tongue across Trump's sack over his Syria decision? No, guess!
What is going ON here? Well, it's pretty simple, actually. White conservative evangelicals might not particularly care about women or black people or Central American refugees or Muslims or gun violence or income inequality or people dying from lack of healthcare or anything else like that, but they give multiple fucks about Syrian Christians. And where do Syrian Christians live? In the line of Turkey's fire that Donald Trump just opened up for them.
Conservative Christians tied their boat to the Orange Shitheel because he, knowing he needed to bribe people to love him, promised them many wonders like woman-hating judges and religious freedom to refuse to frost cakes for fags and all kinds of other shit, and unlike under most Republican presidents, extremist Christians have gotten a lot of what they wanted under Trump. Hell, Mike Pompeo thinks he's the second coming of Queen Esther, a heathen hooligan lady God raised up to save the Jewish people from the king of Persia, if we are remembering our scripture correctly. (Yes, it says "heathen hooligan lady." Probably. Maybe.)
A LOT of them think this. Haven't you seen all the charlatans surrounding the pussgrabber and giving him pray-gasms?
But now they are MAD.
They're probably hearing from their Christian pals in Syria, who were being protected by the Kurds (and, by extension, by the Americans), who are telling them things like this, as reported by NPR:
"The attacks are widespread," [Syriac Christian leader Bassam] Ishak tells NPR by phone. "They are targeting residential areas in Qamishli, where people of all religious backgrounds live. We think this is a message to the Kurds and Christians there to leave, so Turkey can move refugees there. We think it's a form of ethnic cleansing."
In the NPR piece, Ishak says there actually aren't many Syrian Christians left in that area, because they've all become refugees, and says this new assault will probably fully clear them from the area. Syrian Christians are BEGGING Trump to change his mind. Anecdotally, this is one reason we haven't been too surprised to see folks we know who attend conservative Christian churches going on mission trips to help Syrian refugees, even though Republicans have been shitting on those folks for years now and calling them terrorists. The churches are well aware that a ton of the people fleeing have been Christians.
So in its simplest form, who takes care of the Syrian Christians? Kurds. Who murders the Kurds? Turkey. And who's letting them? Why that's King "In My Great And Unmatched Wisdom" Trump himself, whose stable genius doesn't seem to be impressing evangelicals very much at this very moment.
And that is the story of why Pat Robertson is taking away Donald Trump's mandate of heaven and his cloak of righteousness and his pussygrabbing implements and dropkicking President Dumbshit into hell right now.
