WND Idiot Erik Rush Calls For Death To All Muslims, Finds Subsequent Death Threats Lazy And Boring

You know what is apparently hard to understand? Conservative "sarcasm." Hilarious, poorly timed, weak ass sarcasm, especially when it isn't. As Boston was being terrorized andDok Zoom was live blogging for us all on Monday, the social networks were ablaze with heartbroken exclamations of horror, shock, grief and sadness, and because this is America - bigoted, xenophobic outbursts and calls for more murder out the ying-yang. Of the many terribly wrong twerkers was one Erik Rush of WND and his masterful tweets of doom upon the entire Muslim population - and now the obligatory "he was just being sarcastic, liberals are all so stupid" and now he is getting death threats, because he made death threats and that is not funny. We here at Wonkette would like to point out that we are AGAINST DEATH THREATS, always, even death threats against those who make death threats. Oh then also he got SWATted. We are mostly against SWATting too, because of how it wastes law enforcement resources and time. Mostly.
After the bombing Monday, Rush tweeted, “Everybody do the National Security Ankle Grabs! Let’s bring Saudis in without screening them! C’mon!”Rush’s comment was in response to early reports from United Press International that a 20-year-old Saudi Arabian national had been a potential suspect in the double bombings. The Boston police later said the man wasn’t a suspect.
Rush told WND he received some hostile tweets following his initial speculation about the identity of the bomber.
“This was speculation, which everyone is doing,” Rush said. “That’s when the tweets started: ‘You’re blaming Muslims already? You scumbag!’
“After several of those, that’s when I was like, ‘Yeah, that’s right, they’re evil. Kill ‘em all.’
“And that’s all they needed.”
That's ALL? That's all THEY needed? First of all, who's "they," you ask? "They" is the liberal media:
Rush said RightWingWatch and the Huffington Post ran stories about his comments, suggesting Rush actually wanted to kill Muslims.“I was being sarcastic,” he said. “It was promoted, or covered, by RightWingWatch and Huffington Post as if I had said it and meant it – which is what they do. Then all hell broke loose.
“I was getting emails, and I went from 7,500 Twitter followers to over 50,000 in 12 hours. They were sending emails and tweets: ‘We’re coming to get you.’ ‘We’re coming to kill you.’ ‘We’re going to cyber-attack you.’ Then they crashed my site.”
See what "they" do? They quote him, and all hell breaks loose. It is ALL YOUR FAULT, Right Wing Watch! Some guy says "they are evil, kill 'em all" and people read it and BAM! All your fault.
But the harassment didn’t stop there.Rush said he was “swatted” Monday afternoon when someone called the police to convince an unwitting SWAT team to descend upon a house. The person called 9-1-1, pretending to be the columnist and claiming two men were firing AK-47 rifles inside his home.
Huh. How about that.
Here's a lesson on sarcasm, Erik with a K, you can't go around saying things about certain people in a certain way all of the time and then say you want to kill all of those people later and claim later it was "sarcasm." It does not work like that. One has to come from a place of solidarity with humanity for your death-threatening wise-cracks in a time of terrible peril to be read correctly, you see?
He does not see:
Rush said the local CBS affiliate covered the story and suggested he was trying to “defend” his tweet.“I didn’t try to defend them,” he said. “They asked me, ‘If you had it to do over again, would you?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, probably.’”
Despite all the media hoopla, Rush said the incident opened his eyes to the real enemy.
“This really sort of sheds light on who we’re dealing with, and I don’t just mean the Islamists,” he said. “I mean the people who are really willing to stand up for people who want to kill us versus American people. Of course, the stuff that I’m getting is: ‘We’re coming to kill you!’
“Other than the practical concerns, like for safety, it furthers my resolve as far as who’s the dirt bag and who isn’t.”
So, he is not sorry, he would do it again, and now he knows who the real dirtbags are -- it is the people who do not know a good bit of sarcasm, that really wasn't sarcasm because no matter who did this in Boston (and we may find out soon!), he knows it was a Muslim. And fuck all y'all who would threaten the threatener.
EriK, we at Wonkette are sympathetic to your plight. Your insightful concern as to the welfare of Boston was on point, timely and hilarious. You should do more of this all of the time, and no one should ever be confused about which things are the sarcastic bits. We have seen the dirtbags and it is us.
Sarcasm rules.
