Hard (not hard) to believe Radley Balko came up with another example of asshole judges making our "justice" "system" look like a Monty Python skit only with the cruelty dialed up to eleven.
I highly encourage everyone to read The Split. It's good! But it's also annoying! Waiting a week between chapters is not the Dickensian future I want for myself. But it's good!
I did look at the toilet paper and may order some but I still have a bunch from when my husband thought we were almost out and bought a case. OMG, I am sure I told him we had a lot, he just didn't know where I had it stashed.
I don't want to read The Split because I prefer my fiction to be a little less like reality
eggplant parm is my go-to at Italian restaurants, 'cause I'm the only one who likes it. How well they do it is usually a pretty good bellwether on the restaurant's quality, too.
I have been reading The Split every week and I am enjoying it BUT to read a short chapter every week is very hard for me as I usually read several books a week. Waaaaaaaayyy too slow and at first I had to reread the previous chapter to remind me what was going on.
Carville came into my town to work on a local campaign. This was back before he was married. At the end of the day, he asked one of the volunteers where he could get some poontang in this town.
The volunteer didn't know what he was talking about.
Fuck. Crooked Texas AG Ken Paxton gets off the hook in his felony securities fraud trial. No admission of guilt. 10 hours of remedial law education. 100 hours of community service. Has to pat restitution to those he defrauded.
It’s no secret that the Republican National Committee is in dire financial straits. But what’s less known is just how bad that situation really is...
...However, a close examination of the RNC’s recent financial statements reveals that those numbers are hiding some holes. A lot of the RNC’s recent fundraising—millions of dollars of it—is unusable for political spending. Instead, that money can only support a limited range of activities.
lol, Tesla is going to force buyers to take a "FSD" demo ride at delivery of new cars.
Rumor is they are also going to do that after service appointments. Maybe a hoax, but if thats real, I'm going to have some fun with it.
Give me my car back, or I report it stolen. Oh, you want to take me hostage in my own car? lol
Oh, and yeah, "FSD" is no where near ready for prime time. It tries to crash every 1-20 miles. Average USA drivers crash every 200k miles. Really good drivers go 5-10 times that (basically never crash).
We've been watching a Netflix anime called Dungeon Meshi which had a scene that reminded me eerily of the climax of Carrie just this week. The circumstances were different but the character herself has some striking parallels to Carrie's character - spooky magic powers, chased out of her home by parents who didn't understand her - with the key difference of a brother who believed in her.
I can't help but think that having her visually covered head to toe in blood for several scenes was a direct reference. They didn't need to do that. But they did. It's a good show.
What’s going on in that hed gif? Of course I will tell you :)

BEST HED GIF EVAR!!!
This is a TABS for the ages.
You should rent it out to the Biden campaign for an ad.
The idea of Trump in dancewear is, let's just say, unsettling.
At least there is no dance belt bulge.
Gah!
Atlas Stuffed.
I've been sitting on this for a few days, waiting for the perfect article. Sneak preview now since nobody sees replies on Substack anyway!

Truly Pythonesque, Martini.
Can't find where to send story tips.... Please advise. Kbretsch at that damn gmail.com
The gif od Trump as Atlas shaking down the world before getting flattened by the Dance of the Hours hippos made me smile. Thanks.

"James Carville" Why are we giving attention to this relic from a bygone century?

This is the most Carville thing ever.
Jon Stewart was ON FIRE last night. I highly recommend this clip:

I want to know how much he *or someone* paid for that.
EDIT: Shit, you're right. Shit.
If money wins elections, the Democrats are in GREAT shape!

Which activities? Donald Trump's legal fees?
Yes. But look at it this way: every dollar PAB sucks up is a dollar that can't be funneled to Ted Cruz, Rick Scott or any other vulnerable Republican.
Will that stop anybody though? Campaign finance laws are notoriously unenforced.
I think it will but even if it doesn't, the Democrats would still be out raising the GOP by a large margin.
SCOTUS life readout.

They have some work to do before its safe.

I'm late to the party, so if the "American Effuent" has already been said, apologies.
Why are you mad Becca?
