That was hilarious! 😂 A few years ago we used a home projector to display the movie on our garage door. We were in a very active Trick or Treat neighborhood and it was a huge hit. Maybe a little much for the young’uns but the volume was off, music mix instead, and no one complained
As a Parkinson's-American, I can revel in the hosts apparently inviting a bunch of my fellow sufferers to their soiree. Pick up some extra Sinemet at the drug store!
I face planted yesterday because of a loop of cable half buried in the ground at a salvage yard where I was searching for parts for a car project. Last night I felt like the living dead, and I am still aching this morning. Fortunately, a nice lady has taken pity on me and is coming over this morning to help me ease my suffering, if you know what I mean?
The late great George Romero is a yinzer legend. IIRC he doesn't have a bridge named for him, like Clemente, Warhol and David McCullough; he has something far better. By public vote, the chapel and graveyard where Johnny and Barbara first encounter a ghoul was immortalized last year in the miniature railroad village displayed every winter at Carnegie Science Center.
This Saturday is our Zombie Double Feature for Wonkette Movie Night.
First we watch Day Of The Dead(1985) then take a 15 minute intermission and follow up with Train To Busan (2016.)
All are welcome! Cue the movie up on your preferred viewing device, open up Wonkette in another place so you can chat, quote, answer trivia, share memories and have fun with friends as we all watch a movie at the same time even as we are scattered geographically.
Gee - I wonder how many of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals rulings that are to be reviewed by SCOTUS actually originated in the fevered mind of Judge Kacsmaryk:
"...In the new term that began this month, the justices already have said they will review eight decisions from the New Orleans-based court. Twice in the past week, the Supreme Court agreed with emergency requests from the Biden administration to block 5th Circuit directives.
Again, a pattern: Of the 13 emergency requests for relief that President Biden’s solicitor general, Elizabeth B. Prelogar, has brought to the high court, 10 have arisen from the 5th Circuit, according to a list of “shadow docket” actions maintained by University of Texas law professor Steve Vladeck..."
You'd think SCOTUS would be grateful an underling was taking the heat off Thomas and his new revelations with something so quaint as abject incompetence.
I didn't realize until yesterday, hearing It's a Man's World for maybe the hundredth time, that James Brown was an early proponent of Brawndo: Man made the electrolytes . . .
I love/hate that their argument is "and this just happened after Biden spoke out against assault weapons PRETTY FISHY YUH HUH" when it it's not exactly an unlikely coincidence because we had shootings almost every day now
Well, my attempt to go to bed at a reasonable hour (midnight) didn’t work so well. Have been awake since 4:30 AM. Finally just fed the kittehs their breakfast, which they’d been demanding for hours, because I was awake.
Let’s see if I can get a few more hours of sleeping before doing something - anything - productive today.
It’s horror classic “Night of the Living Dead” in your hed gif today, a little upstart movie that changed horror movies forever. Read more about why and how in your daily gif info link: https://open.substack.com/pub/martiniambassador/p/night-of-the-living-dead
"Jellied clam salad?" Is that what the young folks are calling it these days?

That film is a masterpiece and the ending was just devastating.
The guy is Duane Jones, was just looking up how awesome he was. Died at 51, dammit.
Kudos, Martini! You outdid yourself!
Bravo! Next stop, Cannes.
Okay, so this one made me laugh. Pretty good considering what a lousy day it's been so far.

A masterpiece (for the film director and the TABS director).
Aw shucks! 😊
LOL! This one took some real brains!
ISWYDT 😄
George was a great director. No one else could have kept me from snacking on my fellow cast members.
Rest in power, George.
😂

Good one, Tini!

Old news now, I guess. Still.
Flayed Man Cheese Ball! OMG!
I recently saw someone describe the Christian Nationalist Bible as "Leviticus and Revelation wrapped around the entire Left Behind series"
Oh dear. It's taken me nearly two years to learn to live in a world with an "Amplified Bible" and now THIS?

Any island can be a sex orgy island with a little prep work and creativity! (My rejected article for "Martha Stewart Living".)

Jellied clam salad? Barf!
Thanks, as always, a bunch of good stuff there. I especially liked The Nation article.
I saw this flick when I was about 10 at the drive-in.
Scared the shit out of me.
I've never watched it again...

The false flag claims were as predictable as the sun rising in the East. Fuck you, Muskrat.
"New false flag just dropped"

Me too. Got a big day at work today and I suppose I need to start that.
