Everything in ballad time can be sung to Yellow Rose of TexasThe last thing I remember, I was heading for the door / I had to make my way back to the place I was before / Relax said the night man, we are programmed to receive / You can check out any time you like, but you can never leaveMy mother was a tailor, she sewed me a pair of jeans / My father was a gambling man, down in New Orleans / The only things a gambler needs, are a suitcase and a trunk / The only time he's satisfied, is when he's on a drunkJust sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip / That started from this tropic port, aboard this tiny ship / The mate was a mighty sailing man, the skipper brave and sure / Five passengers set sail that day, for a three hour tour
"Montanans used to live and let live. Today bitter confrontations dim Big Sky Country." in WaPo. Here is the better link. https://presswatchers.org/2...
Can you fucking believe this gentle fairy tale about a town that has been a Nazi stronghold for a decade? "David" in the article moved there when the neoNazis were explicitly recruiting for it as a white nationalist settlement. Then giggles about not mentioning it.
the episode that I suppose was the pilot was on ME TV recently. Egads it was baaaddd. We had much more willingness to suspend disbelief for 30 minutes in the 60's and 70's.
I would have found the palpable frustration of the hounds to convince the American people that LEAVING THAT WAR WAS A BAD THING except there was actual tragedy at our longest, brutal, pointless war.
It wasn't that we were willing to suspend disbelief it was because there were so few channels. You had 3 networks and pbs. How many local stations you had depended on where you lived. My 60's childhood was spent in the burbs of DC and we had two local stations that played almost exclusively black & white movies and tv shows (cheaper to broadcast). With only 6 channels there is not a lot of choices so yeah, we sometimes we watched crap.

Ta, MM. I've stopped watching the Sunday shows.

They tried to hang a sitting vice President and wanted to kill the Speaker of the House.
We should have left the gallows on the lawn and strung up the builders.
Sadly, Click and Clack, The Tappett Brothers, are not here to comment.
Jake should have responded that "yes, their resistance to Covid would increase upon getting the vaccine!"
Why not constantly point out that he lied to the MAGAts?
It's not just applause - there's a lot of chanting too!
Phuck it, I need a blunt. https://media2.giphy.com/me...

The press loves a war.
Every time another MAGAT scandal breaks, where people could actually be held criminally liable, I think of the sage words of Roy Wood, Jr. :
"Ain't nothin' gonna happen."

Of course he didn't take time to talk to a woman about a vaccine. He was too busy making sure the right teams won all the sportsballs.
