I think doctors should just do what they need to do (in medical emergencies) and let the state try to take action against them, medical civil disobedience if you will, but I also know that’s a really easy thing to think when I’m not the one in danger of losing my license or going to prison.
Just to clarify: The American College of Pediatrics is a professional association of 67,000 doctors.The American College of Pediatricians is a dissemblingly-named group of a few hundred loons and bigots in white coats.
My daughter did this as well in August, it took meeting with three different doctors but eventually she got it scheduled and done. The doc who ended up doing the surgery told her afterwards that she had a massive amount of scarring around her fallopian tubes and would have been at high risk for ectopic pregnancy if she had even been able to become pregnant.
They never paid my dad, who had been a cop in his little town for 30 years.
Funny thing was that every Christmas, the pastors would give my dad a fifth of some nice booze to "thank" him for directing traffic in front of their churches every Sunday. But he didn't drink. (Though at least we drank some mighty fine liquor after his funeral.)

Huh. Here in Austin, churches pay the cops who direct traffic, and synagogues pay the cops who keep white or black supremacists from murdering us.
