Why does "The Unchanging Sea" sound like an oxymoron to me?

"The Unchanging Sea" was a serial from the original run of Doctor Who.

Fortunately the UAF business has yet to expand to hysterical levels. IMO we have yet to see anything of substance, including physical evidence, to support the idea that this is somehow alien technology rather than an insect or paint chip on a camera lens. Also if they are such a potential threat to aircraft where are the incidences of unexplained crashes to support this point?

Oh PSHAW! There you go with your "Where is the evidence?" and your "Why aren't there theses obvious things that would be happening if this was real?" nonsense. Just because they can't provide the evidence is just stronger proof of the conspiracy!!

Some powers stuff in these Tabs this day....

Still in pain over Sinead....

Fuck the Incel Nazis....

Why can't the MSM just say the Economy is doing good without the obligatory "but this is good news for John McCain bullshit....

Still a little bit broken, but coming back thanks to my Wonketteria Family- love you all.

Sorry if somebody else has already come up with the idea; I am way behind on non-comments today.

Consider it either "exchange of hostage" or "have a heart and stop this misery".

"...to become a property manager in Florida, you must obtain a real estate broker's license. This is based on Chapter 475 of the 2019 Florida Statutes. According to the state's laws, some of the major responsibilities of property managers are considered as real estate services or activities."

I wonder if Carlos de Olveira went through the effort....

My search through online in Florida DBPR shows no such name. Shocking!

Interestingly, O'Connor's conversion to Islam and adoption of the hijab goes consistently undiscussed.

At the least, it shows a conflicted relationship with religion and gender roles.

At the most, it is stunning hypocrisy.

It certainly at least merits mention when exalting her as an icon of female empowerment against a stultifying patriarchy.

She was in the Sufi schism of that religion.

"Sufism is a mystical form of Islam, a school of practice that emphasizes the inward search for God and shuns materialism. It has produced some of the world's most beloved literature, like the love poems of the 13th century Iranian jurist Rumi."

It's like Muslim Kabballah not Jihad...

Get a handle on yourselves, people.....

OK, and since this all went rapidly off the rails after this comment, I'm going to direct both of you to the comments policy, item # 7, and then I'm removing the remaining back-and-forth in the subthread.

Agreed, and there are Muslim feminists who do, but when someone who literally used a denial of conventional feminine beauty also related to hair as her signature in challenging one religion chooses it in another it merits mention.

Just going to note again that this is turning into a Rule 7 violation — see https://www.wonkette.com/p/rules-for-commenting-radicals — so I'm deleting the remainder of this subthread too, and asking all parties to not continue it, thank you.

That salon article is a good read. Some people really hate it when a woman stands up in public and says "I'm not going to play your patriarchal games."

Yes and ....Sinead was an original punk angel...I loved her and Dolores R. with the fire of a thousand suns not just because they were both beautiful Irish songbirds with angelic voices, but because they would literally scream in the face of the evil and injustice in the world inflicted by religions and governments in the name of the people. She also demanded that her words and songs were on her terms. Loved her...a hero.

I want to know when the suppurating asshole that is Steve Bannon is going to fucking jail. WikiP says he is free while awaiting appeal. I say it’s time to stop lettering that festering piece of moldy dogshit (apologies to actual dogshit) to stop fucking up our democracy and do his time.

Well, I _am_ technically old enough to be my kids' grandmother, if I and my theoretical child both had babies at 17 or 18.

CNN:"Bannon, who pleaded not guilty to the federal charges and denied any wrongdoing, was pardoned by then-President Trump..." by accepting the federal pardon he has admitted guilt. That should come in handy in New York Courts.

woah.... editing a comment used to present me with a blank editing window after I hit the "post" button. The work around was to click the "cancel" button, and then my edited comment would appear.

But this morning, hitting "post" after editing skips the annoying (and initially scary) blank edit box, and instead my comment is posted AS ONE WOULD EXPECT!

Looks like Substack is keeping up with us, and takes care of its glitches. Thanks, Substack, and thanks Wonkette.com for switching us to this new, and more stable world of non-commenting.
