I'm glad Rep. Kim addressed concerns about evidence collection on January 6, but the story he tells about law enforcement response is disheartening. It seems like that registered body armor would have been simply gathered up with the other disgusting trash if not for Mr. Kim, and he couldn't be omnipresent; it's certain other valuable (in the evidentiary sense) items were indeed discarded.
J6 seems more and more like Apocalypse Now: No one was in charge. The Trump administration made sure of that.
Seth Meyers is one of my favorites, and that interview with Rep. Kim is a an absolute treasure.
I don’t live in Rep. Kim’s state, but I may throw him some Ameros. What a fantastic person. It’s not often that I tear up watching a politician speak, but I did here.
Watchung Reservation-it's a short ride from my home. That is also one of the places part of my ashes are to be left (another is my beloved Cape May & Stone Harbor among others).
Sen. Mendendez has already addressed this crucial and divisive issue on his Facebook page.
Senator Bob Menendez is in New Jersey. July 27, 2020.
Happy #NationalNewJerseyDay! From the Delaware Water Gap to the Jersey Shore, NJ pizza to Taylor Ham, Jersey Fresh farmland to bustling cities, I am so thankful to live in a state as diverse as ours. Proud to fight for our our great state every day in the Senate.
The chef's kiss of the whole thing is that the Benz was because Mrs. M's previous car was out of commission BECAUSE SHE KILLED A GUY WITH IT. Seriously, if this was a movie script it would be in the trash as trope-ridden and not credible.
Speaking of bribery...did SCOTUS squatter Clarence Thomas take John Oliver's proffer of a new RV and some cash to GTFO of our judicial branch?
I do have some ethical issues with trying to fix naked corruption with more naked corruption. But I do put those issues aside because I am the kind of person who uses the word 'naked' in the same noncomment with the words "Clarence Thomas". Obviously I have some issues of my own to fix.
Menendez worries me, but not for the obvious reason. The money pressure on politicians is immense. Those seeking to influence put their money where they think it'll get the best results. In the last 20 years or so that's been the GQP. Menendez is the Dem exception. I think that the money is going to seek out more and more Dems as the GQP looses power. If we can't deal with Menendez, it sets a precedent that Dems can be bought without consequences.

That was always the danger of Citizens United. And anyone who's ever read & really understood the decision who understood it (and didn't want to disproportionately benefit from it) really did try to explain it.
Most of us were pooh-poohed, patronized, dismissed, and laughed at for our trouble.
Followed by blabbering away to any idiot with a microphone. If this clown truly wanted to strike it big-time rich in the highly-paid field of political graft, he should heed Ferengi Rule of Acquisition No. 163, "WHISPER your way to success."
Ta, Sara. Here's hoping Andy Kim is NJ's next Senator.
Oh my god, this is the first time I've encountered "Kraft Dinner Palpatine" and I love you for this! Now back to reading the rest of the piece...
clown can't stop clowning. film at eight.
I feel for his daughter
yeah, how to completely ruin your own family with this one weird trick...
Some parents don't give a damn
Especially if they're on a second (third, etc) spouse

Masha Gessen has a chapter in her book about how "accountability of no one" is a hallmark of an push toward autocratic attempted rule

And Senator Mendez (*spits*) can go fuck himself.
I may have seen Seth Myers once or twice on SNL, and I've never watched the Tonight (or Late or whatever), but, boy, that was a damn fine interview.
And Rep. Kim is a hero.
I am excited that I will be able to vote for Rep. Kim this spring!
Me too.
I am reserving judgment on Sen. Menendez until he takes a stand on whether it's pork roll or Taylor ham, and whether "Central Jersey" even exists.
I live in Central Jersey and will die on that hill. As for the other, I don't like it but do refer to it either way most likely depending on my mood.
And where, exactly, would you even find a hill in your so-called "Central Jersey?"

That's not just Camden?

He is, not surprisingly, wrong.
Which exit is "Central Jersey"?
I wouldn't know, I'm firmly in the "Does Not Exist" camp.

Hey... It didn't disqualify George Bush (Jr.). His wife once killed a man with a car, too.
Her ex-boyfriend, it should be noted.
In a movie that would be the reason why Senator Goldbarz would have to resign.

Jesus, I wonder how many side eyes his daughter, Alicia Menendez must get walking the halls of MSNBC.
I feel for her.
It's not her fault her father is a criming crook.
Maybe she can get together with Paul Gosar's family and start a drinking club.
And we like her on her show! Feel sorry for her, we do.
OK Yoda...

So ... now what?
This!
"Portrait" of an inanimate object, in landscape mode
Senator Bob Menendez; this is what happens to wanna-be-bad-boys lacking the merits and mettle to make it as a midlevel underworld wise guy.
"GOLD BARS AND A BENZ?"
lol
