If Joe is officially invited, he should go - because it's the proper and polite thing to do.

If there's no official invite, he can stay home.

Oh absolutely agree, I get what you're saying. Deconditioning people to society telling them to accept being trampled underfoot - whether by fascists, bullies, or the powers that be - is definitely a long haul, and we certainly shouldn't expect children to have to bear the brunt of people letting it get to this point.

My preferred set of actions is that we get people used to sticking together in the face of even overwhelming odds and say no; it's a time honored tradition, and should be romanticized and realized. Of the younger people I know, they do this instinctively and with pretty astoundingly courageous ethical and moral aplomb.

My heart goes out to your kiddo. Here's to creating a better world for them.

They get away with it in the moment. Probably that’s enough, even if they get corrected after the fact. Laws don’t mean anything anymore.

The MN GOP put aside politics to welcome Joe. JK - they spit piss and vinegar in their official statement:“President Biden and the Democrats’ economic and fiscal policies have been a disaster for our state and country. Their wasteful and reckless tax-and-spending sprees have driven inflation over 4%, and real wages are down for almost two years running. The President shouldn’t be traveling the country celebrating. He should apologize for making it harder for families to save for college or retirement, pay the bills, start a business, or even buy the things they need every day like groceries and gas. Minnesotans will see right through it and Republicans will make an aggressive case to hold Biden and the Democrats accountable.”
