Of course, even the right to freedom of speech has limitations (even on right-wingers). Speech that puts someone in danger is not protected. You can't shout fire in a crowded theater unless there is a fire. And you shouldn't be able to advocate shooting people whose politics or color you don't like.
Ending special interest money in our politics would give us a different government overnight, even with the same people in place. As long as there are big donors, congresscritters will work for those donors and not for the public. That's human nature and most congresscritters are sort-of human.
Well, this cartoonist is great at messaging - he's giving the message that GOP are effective tough guys and Dems are effete wimps. He's probably getting top dollar from the GOP for that.
Seriously: effete pundits and cartoonists ARE the ones who should be doing the messaging. Instead, they want to whine about how someone else isn't doing it for them. Almost as if... they didn't want to be responsible, just to report on a horse race.
These jerkoffs and the politicians they enable evidently do not merely want to eliminate any aspect of education they deem controversial or commie, they want to destroy public education altogether, lest it actually TEACH their kids something.Controversial or commie means anything less white than industrial strength bleach.Otherwise how could Betsy DeVos ever have come to head the Department of Education?
I have a question...did facts used to work, or am I just romanticizing the past?
It seems like there might have been a brief period in human history between the Salem witch trials and the election of G. W. Bush, where the outcome of a controversy would be dictated by facts.
Christopher Rufo has made it clear that his goal in pushing the CRT lies is to end the public school system and replace it with Christian homeschooling.
And he now has an army of Rufo's Rednecks to do his bidding like they are doing when the GOP took over the school board in my home town. The first action of the new GOP school board was to "ban CRT" and require teachers to extol the accomplishments of Christianity and the White Race in America...
Sure sounds like grounds for a lawsuit.

Same with gun rights.
Well, there are fewer because of our gun culture. Sadly, the gun nuts don't limit themselves to shooting each other.

Except for those who are proud of it and teaching their grandkids the same bigoted beliefs.
OK, Dok, I followed your advice and read the whole thing. Now I'm furious enough to spit nails.

Yes. Exactly that. Money for ammunition, but nothing for pencils.
Dynamic, visionary leaders? The DNC doesn't allow them in the party any more.

But that kid was having a bad day. And he was white. In the words of Tony Soprano: Whadda ya gonna do?
Riggs: My friend wants to move to Georgia.Georgia diplomat: But she's ... bleck.

Boris Manchin and Natasha Sinema stand in the way.
Is there any way she can sue the 'non-profits' and the county boards that started and catered to the wing nuts, resulting in her losing employment?
