No, they jumped in with Trump whole hog when he signaled to them that he was willing to play ball by asking them to get HRC's emails. That was the signal. People forget this, but while he was the frontrunner, there was a movement afoot to keep him from getting the nomination. Like, every day there was a story about some other politician giving their theory of how they could stop him. It ended only after Trump had that meeting with Reince Preibus and Paul Ryan -- and, you know, after the Russians hacked the RNC.
Prolly they had a little something something on Ryan and Preibus and used it to get them to accept Trump as the nominee. Because after that meeting -- POOF -- all talk about a brokered convention ended.
I kinda always assumed that the Uranium One story came from Team Treason.
But, yeah, it seems that the Trump team were duped by the Russians into thinking they had more dirt than they did. Which is sad/scary.
I'm assuming that Team Treason thought that the stupid emails would be enough to stop Hillary but then Trump proved to be a TERRRRR IBLE candidate so they had to step up the game and so -- micro targeting?
