Ever hear the story of that Vermont judge whose name I forgot who had the case of a runaway slave brought before him, and the agent of the 'owner' was there getting the certificate allowing him to take the man back south. He showed the ownership paper to the judge and the judge said, "how do I know your client owns this man?" And the agent is indignant and says, "Judge here is the man, and here is the paper that says he's the property of my client. You've seen this and what more do you expect?" The judge said "A bill of sale from the Almighty." That's truly what he said. And the man did not get his permission. You can google this transaction. I heard of this because this judge wrote a play, and it was performed in NY once and I read about the judge in the NYer.

You would be better served using the 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th doctor. Much more emotion

Burkes book, Sherman's March, is a very good place to start. It's very readable.

Yes it is. And we shouldn't tolerate it. That's what these people are saying- we want to run away from the dark. Germans make school children go to concentration camps, so they can see what they are capable of. This is what we should use plantations for, not, as we currently do, to admire past opulence, but to see whose backs were striped to achieve it.

Narcissists tend to possess exaggerated feelings of self-importance, excessive need for admiration, and a lack of empathy. Conservatives would call this patriotism.Mic dropped.

Yes, but I appreciated that in her. Because she was feeling it so much. Like when Ben Affleck didn't want it known that his ancestors owned slaves. I don't blame him. Who would want to be associated with it, and why suddenly should we all be ready for it?

Religion is mostly garbage, and monotheism is doubly so, but...

...damn! I like that judge! Well done sir!
