Donald Trump Isn't backing off from his insistence that the borders are completely open and that most of those crossing are criminals, thugs, and thuggish criminals, but he is at least becoming vaguely aware that this stance may not be universally loved.
I've canoed across the US-Canadian border (legally), in the Boundary Waters. On the Canadian side you apply, by mail, for a Remote Area Border Crossing permit, on the US side you show your passport in Ely afterwards.
Starting to think this guy is like George Lucas. He had that initial spark, but then he surrounded himself with great people who did all the work that he eventually took credit for.
Stop and think about this for a second. Trump's comments about illegal messican'ts didn't come from some campaign stump where he thought the only people listening were his audience. It wasn't a hot mike or anything like that. It wasn't like Romney's 47% remark that the thought no one outside of the room would hear (except for the guy who recorded the entire thing on his cell phone, and undid any of the slim chances Romney had of winning). This was shit he said in his speech to announce he is running. Just let that sink in.
