Indeed why not just classify all shootings as part of their religious practices where blood is offered up to the 2nd amendment gun gods? That way they can claim immunity from government intervention into their "religious practices". If only the gun faithful would be honest about their religion they could actually establish the sacred right to have people shot without government interference.

My son saw a sailor in dress whites on a street in San Diego, face down, blood around him. He said people were walking past him, stepping over him, and stopping to take pictures of him.
DS turned him over, opened his airway, and that was all it took for him to start breathing. Stayed with him, rendered aid. Took forever for first responders to arrive. A couple of corpsmen happened to be walking down the street and took over, just before the ambulance arrived. That's stuck with me.
