By Terence Are you ready to meet the most dickheaded CEO in the fast food game today? Well, tough noogies, you're going to anyway, because this a-hole deserves to be recognized. One of the arguments opponents of a minimum wage hike LOOOOOOOOVE to bring up -- usually while leveling a smirk so smug and punchy, it'd give Ted Cruz pause -- is if fast food workers are paid a living wage, the industry will completely automate and they'll be out of a job and HOW DO YOU LIKE THEM APPLES?! Andy Puzder, CEO of CKE Restaurants (the parent company of Carl's Jr. and Hardee's),
If Carl's doesn't do it, McD's will. Automatic restaurants will create numerous high tech jobs, but will leave young, poor, uneducated people jobless. Unless we stop technology then poor people with no job prospects will remain in poverty.
If you can't get a job at $8/hr then who will hire you at $15/hr?
The investors and poor will suffer, but $15/hr wage will be great for my company- we make AI software and hardware for forward facing business. I feel sorry for the poor people who will be permanently unemployed. Government gives, then takes away.
When they lose jobs because they aren't worth $15/hr I hope they loot you first. Permanent unemployment sucks, but I'm sure you will be glad to give them money.
Automated checkout lanes didn't catch on everywhere, I don't think people want their food order taken by a robot. They don't seem to care about all the other horrible things that happen from the slaughterhouse and how workers who pick the tomatoes are paid very little and typically abused, but making me place my order with a touch screen crosses some kind of line apparently.
I would love this. There is a Subway near me with a drive thru that has a touchscreen for ordering. I prefer it over all other Subway's because the only time I have to deal with people is the physical exchange of money for food. I'm not paying to interact with people; I'm paying to get my food and leave as quickly as possible. If I wanted quality service and a friendly atmosphere, I would go to a real restaurant(Which I very rarely do).
I'm going to start a guillotine and pitch fork company.
I think there's going to be a HUGE demand for them soon. Very soon.
When there are no more jobs, and you have nothing to lose, the shit is going to hit the fan.

When you include Clinton, Bush, Obama, Romney, Reid, Yellen, Pelosi, etc. in your march, I'll join.
Your love of government power is the problem. Government is the problem, not the solution.
Taxes are too high and regulations are too onerous in California.
As taxes and regulations grow, businesses look elsewhere. At least they aren't moving HQ to Ireland...yet.

The poor people permanently unemployed hate you more.

He is creating jobs- for well educated software and hardware engineers. Poor people with no skills will suffer since no company will pay them $15/hr.
Is that why they're rich? Did they steal the money?
Oh, we've got a live one over here, folks! lmao
This system needs a block button so that I don't have to see idiots.

I was told there would be scantily clad wimmins
Scantily-clad robot wimmins:
Automatic restaurants have already been a thing, & they failed then, too.
I could try to have a logical argument with you, but you're a moron, so I'll just save us both a buttload of time by calling you a fucking idiot.
You're welcome!
