It is perfectly legal to change your name. Cassius Clay? Remember him? How about Prince Rogers Nelson? Countless Hollywood stars have changed their names. Bet you didn't have an issue with Archibald Alexander Leach becoming Cary Grant, huh? Cuz, not African-sounding?
I was leaning towards Maya Rockeymore-Cummings but Mfume was a protege of Cummings so I'm good.
What did make me smile is that one of my oldest friends - we met when we were 12 - voted for the very first time in this special election. Up until recently, she was a British citizen and a resident alien of the U.S. She had no interest in citizenship even after marrying and having two lovely children. But then we elected Trump and girlfriend became a citizen with the quickness. She posted a photo of herself with her very first "I voted" sticker yesterday.
Klacik is using Baltimore and Section 8 as racist dog whistles. Just wait for the references to welfare. The GOP has no message for America other than “dark-skinned people are SCARY!!”
I live in Baltimore and it's sooooo much fun seeing my BaltCo and Homeland BaltCity "allegedly liberal" (i.e. "slightly racist", want to pay zero in taxes, know some showtunes, think Freddie Gray 'was a shame, but man they went apeshit and ruined everything', go to 2 O's games, 1 Ravens (or 10 if they 'own the PSL') game, and hang 2-3 times/year in Fells after dark) friends, as if on cue, bitching about the 'partisan gerrymandering' of Cummings' district. Eat shit, hopalong; when you un-Gerrymander the EIGHT red states where Dems got more votes but less seats, sometimes (looking at you, NC/WI) egregiously so, maybe I'll jump on your "break up MD and unilaterally disarm I'm just saying but yes I wish we would but I'm not a Republican I'm a realist" bandwagon.
For me it's because a LOT of people have connected my name change to being "fake". I didn't assume bad faith, but since there's been a lot of bad faith directed toward me about my name change, I was wondering what motivated it and curious as to whether bad faith might possibly exist.
You say it's just info, and that's enough for me, but if you're wondering why I was even tempted to ask my question, that's why.
because of course. this is going to be a regular token pileup.
Kimberly Klacik -- You sure she's not a character sprung from the imagination of David Simon, Ed Burns, and their team of writers?

Cary Grant did it for Randolph Scott.
RANDOLPH SCOTT! *removes hat*

No issue. Just information. Why does everyone associate the mention of this as an issue?

That will only work on Twitter. I don't think he's capable of pronouncing that combination of sounds anymore.

She needs to add another name that starts with "K" so she'd have three and have the right initials.
True, but somewhere in the past his family must have had their name changed to "Gray."

The GOP is the party of racism, xenophobia, greed, and above all, lies.
They are now truly in Donald's image. Lincoln, TR, and Ike roll over in their graves.
Too many “going down” jokes. Ssimultaneously, I think of “the ships in the filled” from The Mark of Zorro. You know, the fluffy ones that say “Baa.”
