I dunno man, I don't think even Fox will let him get on the air and say, "Black people love to fuck! This is guaranteed to bring the Black vote to Trump!"

I mean, sure, they *believe* Black people are out there reproducing like rabbits to Greatly Replace all of the Fox viewers, but I dunno that they'll say it.

Speaking of not eating meat on Fridays, Schumer should start putting christian nationalist message bills on on the floor, like outlawing eating meat on Friday. And all the other crazy shit that's in there. Show people what's really coming if republicans take over the government.

Not eating meat on Fridays was, I am fairly sure, just a Catholic thing, mainly back in the day. That rule has been pretty much wiped away except for during Lent maybe.

Some of us in here equate Catholics and Evangelicals, but even now most Catholics I know are pretty freewheeling and the MAGA dominionists historically have hated Catholics (once sneered at as "fisheaters". Vatican II changed a lot of the rules.

I was raised RCC in the 60s and 70s, no meat on Fridays plus "fasting" (two small meals) only in Lent, as I recall. I am vegetarian now, but very much not RCC.

So on one of the earlier articles about Watters he got his information from his garbage man. Is Waters saying we should assume all garbage men are Black? And do we actually believe Watters has ever spoken to a person picking up garbage, unless it was to yell at them to move their truck. Besides, in my area you never get a chance to speak to the guy, usually white, who handles garbage pick up. Because you have a large roll out bin you take down to the street, he (there may be some women drivers but I have not heard of any) stops, swings a mechanical arm out, it grabs the bin, lifts it up, and dumps the trash in the back of the truck. Then sets the bin sideways almost in the road, presenting a traffic hazard especially if it's windy. But the driver never gets out of the truck

So I really question if Jesse has spoken with his garbage guy. But apparently garbage men are the only Black people he could think of to get a feel for trends in the hood. No neighbors, people at Fox, at the grocery store, or just out in public. The only occupation he could imagine would fit a younger Black male that he may ever come within 50 feet of was garbage pick up. Not a Fed Ex driver, a clerk in a store, a teacher or university professor, the pilot on his plane, or his doctor, who could also be Black. Oops. Jesse would never have a Black doctor and would probably get off the plane if the pilot was Black. And he expects us to believe he got involved in a conversation about sneakers and Trump with his garbage man who he thinks everyone will assume is Black.

When I was a kid, I did. I lived in an all-white neighborhood in Detroit (Detroit!) and the only Black people I saw in my neighborhood were the garbagemen.

I've had the same two guys for a number of years. From my brief encounters with them, I can say they are both very courteous ,well spoken, and I would hazard to guess fairly well educated. For whatever reasons they chose to do that job, I'm damn glad they did. Where would we be without them?

“This is connecting with Black America because they love sneakers!"

Remember when the Trump campaign was organizing fake charity events in majority-black neighborhoods to incentive voters by literally giving them handfuls of money? I thought that was the most sickening, insulting, patronizing stunt ever conceived. I was naive. As usual they can always go lower.

I was talking to a friend of mine about the messages I'd been getting from "the widow of the Treasury Secretary of Nigeria" and I was griping about how the Nigerians had gotten so they weren't even TRYING to be plausible, and he's a guy from India and he told me, "they aren't trying to fool regular people-- just ignorant people." I get the exact same feeling from Jesse Watters' lame anecdote, only he's actually doing the very best he can! I mean, what unfeeling dork-like racist doesn't have casual encounters like that, and benefit by them, agenda wise? Remember when Paul Ryan told about the little boy who didn't want a subsidized lunch but would rather go without if he couldn't have a lunch 'in a paper bag?' What a wonderful little boy!! Too bad he was a little boy out of a book. And, he didn't say that.
