Not for years...

"On 5 June 2018, [UK] Culture Secretary Matt Hancock cleared Fox's proposed deal, contingent on the divestiture of Sky News. It also cleared counteroffers for Sky that were being made in a bidding war by U.S. telecoms and media conglomerate Comcast. Comcast made a US$65 billion counter-offer to acquire the 21st Century Fox assets being sold to Disney. Fox rejected the offer, in favour of a higher-valued offer from Disney. Comcast subsequently pursued a counter-offer for Sky only, resulting in the Panel on Takeovers and Mergers ordering that a blind auction be held between Comcast and Fox. On 22 September, Comcast was declared the winner of the auction, resulting in Fox agreeing to sell its controlling stake in Sky to the company.'

So it is now part of the right-wing owned and operated* Comcast which owns NBC Universal, CNBC, and MSNBC in the US.

Having seen Jimi Hendrix live twice, and having anything and everything by him, I can say that when I saw Prince live I knew 100% that he was the closest thing I had ever heard to Jimi, and that is still true.

Yes! Like Wendy and Lisa in The Revolution for exampleI love the video of "KIss'' where Wendy Melvoin is sitting on a stool playing guitar with Prince moving all around her and her breaking out in laughter a few times.You can tell they really cared about each other.

But sorry again. Al Green was on HI Records of Memphis, which was really much more of a true SOUL sound than Motown, with the exception of Marvin.See also Stax/Volt of Memphis for much more of the REAL thing

In terms of soul/R&B, Stax/Volt was the best, with Fame/Muscle Shoals Sounds second, HI Records of Memphis, KIng Records of Cincinnati third, and Motown like around 78th.

Motown started out soulful, but Berry Gordy, Jr. insisted upon sliming this up with strings and shit on most albums to appeal to white audiences* Eventuallly only Stevie and Marvin escaped that.He also promoted the worst singer in The Supremes, Diana Ross, partly for the same reason and also cause he was shtupping her, even though Florence Ballard and Mary Wilson had REAL soulful voices, especially the latter.But Gordy promoted the childlike-voice of his girlfriend to top name billing and the REAL soulful songs of the group were history

He also dropped Gladys Knight and The Pips as he couldn't stand any competition from the much superior voice of Gladys competing with his girl.People may not know it but their hit ''Midnight Train To Georgia'' was on the Buddah label and was much more soulful that any thing Diana ever did.

*Gordy has admiited many times that he sweetened the music SPECIFICALLY to get the ''white kids'' to listen to Motown.

Used to listen to WKBW in Buffalo in the 60s: the latest British Invasion hit would be followed by a Motown selection which would be followed by an easy-listening pop piece which would be followed by that weird stuff out of San Francisco - if you didn't like one song wait a few minutes and something different would come on. Then the 70s happened and radio stations became specialized and I lost track of many of the genres
