All of my long life I've heard the self-righteous folks sayin' "don't take the lord's name in vain ! . . . don't take the lord's name in vain !" which they always seem to define as some poor schlub screaming "J**** C*****" when he accidentally hits his thumb with a hammer. More recently, and way too late I've come to see that it's "all the grifters who claim to know him and speak for him..." that are those who "take the lord's nam in vain."
