my 14 y/o is going back to in-person school. luckily, this is san francisco, so i can expect most kids to be vaxxed, like she is. also, they will be keeping the windows open, and everyone will be wearing masks, vax or not. i can't imagine what it feels like being in a state where the stupids rein.
We went to the Newport Folk Festival 2 weeks ago. You had to upload your vaccine card and then received a QR code that was scanned upon entry. They then gave you a wrist band you could use for all three days. They also had onsite rapid testing available. It all went pretty smoothly. I’ve not heard about any outbreaks linked to the event.
I really sympathize with the people who want to "get back to their lives." Sure! As long as you don't mind that life without an occasional brother, sister, spouse, parent, etc. not there anymore. So get back to your life, as long as you don't mind a few people missing from it.
I got one of the cloth ones I ordered yesterday. It was supposed to have sea turtles on it but it has flamingos instead. It still seems like a pretty good mask so I will wear it. I'm in Florida, after all.
This is exactly what is going to happen, if not happening already. Delta is already more contagious than the original. The next mutations will be more transmissible, more deadly, and not affected by current vaccines. At which point, we are doomed.
I am extremely pessimistic because I know my fellow man.
I generally support that, although we need to have exemptions for kids who aren’t currently eligible, and for those who truly can’t vaxxed due to a medical reason.
And we still need to keep the mask mandate in place for EVERYONE in airports & on planes. I’ve only flown once since the pandemic started (in April, after I was fully vaxxed). First time in a while I’ve been on a flight that long where I didn’t get sick with anything.
It's not like Fox hasn't paved the way for what an employment-related vaccine mandate looks like.
I've been telling people how to stay safe until I'm blue in the masked face.
here in IL both lori and j.b are getting plenty of criticism. it's much deserved in both cases.
still. going to vote for a D every where i can in my blue state / blue city.
why the fuck was this a thing?

Thanks. Eddie was a helluva guy and a great DJ.

I would like a full refund of my purchase price.

You poets and your free verse!
To hear the wingnuts, you'd think every single democrat in the country was out in the streets spreading covid and looting.
And, at this point, quite late.

Spare us, Ron. We've got enough bullshit to last the rest of the year, so you can save yourself the trouble of adding to it.
