Making Miller chief of staff was not just PAB flipping America off after his ass got so thoroughly kicked. He figured that his ghoul would deflect some of that hate from himself. But there's plenty of hate on hand for both. Fuck those losers.

The Onion: Stephen Miller reminds picky-eater son that there are hungry kids in the basement. Lecture cites hungry youths chained to boiler downstairs.

Just imagine, back when Trump was in his prime, at his peak of mental acuity, he thought having a Diet Coke button on his desk was "very, very classy".

Another excellent point, but I still don't see Schumer and Jeffries being removed from leadership . . .

What might be more interesting is who fills the jobs just below them . . .

Drop Site @DropSiteNews

Asked whether he would support Chuck Schumer as Senate Democratic leader if elected, Mississippi Democrat Scott Colom said: “I don’t like that our party is represented by two people that live in the same borough.”

Colom, who was referring to Brooklyn-based Schumer and House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries, is leading Republican incumbent Cindy Hyde-Smith by 49.1% to 48.8%, ~2,500 votes, with 98% of votes counted. The race has not yet been called.

Race not called yet, press still trying to use him to Wedge Democrats Apart

Colom, bubby, just tell em you are focused on the results and you'll get back to them. Do not take the bait

He's doing fine . . . trust the process (right?) 🙄

I think Schumer might have to step aside. It takes fewer people to force a change in the Senate, and a lot of the new Senators seem to be lining up against him.

Personally I'd prefer a complete change in leadership, but new Senate leadership still shows that people are getting what they voted for.

Toomush Expectashuns's avatar

Schumer is useless. Jeffers needs a new head of staff... I think there's gonna be a floor fight in both houses...

MRK's avatar

Possibly. And a short floor fight isn't a bad thing. Just so long as we don't repeat the Republicans' 'going days without figuring out who is Speaker' trick.

I've seen some things here that make me think Jeffries is lining up enough support to keep his job, but there are weeks before that becomes reality in any case.

That makes it hilarious. Even on the North side of the border, the fact that alleged big tough alpha bidniz men (mostly) fell over themselves screaming like surrender monkeys to Trump (or tried to) will remain in public's eye for a long time.

Spineless motherfuckers all.

About that image up top:

Oh dear, please don't tarnish the marvelous "Park of the Monsters" at Bomarzo by associating it with someone with a life as small as Stephen Miller's. I spent one of the most haunting, magical days of my life there, wandering among its sculptures under cloudy skies while the peacocks screamed. I have been inside that screaming mouth of the Great Orc. There's a little table inside, like a tongue. I saw only one other person the whole time I was in the park, an Argentine woman who turned me on to the great novel "Bomarzo" by the writer Manuel Mujica Lainez.

Salvador Dalí tried to buy the garden. One of Michelangelo Antonioni's first films is of Bomarzo. The place is an epic, dark-side-of-the-Renaissance fantasy, an extravagance filled with whimsy and imagination and a wild freedom of expression, qualities that wound-up ghoul Stephen Miller simply does not possess.

Leave Bomarzo Alone!

OT: More offenses to pile onto Hegseth's impeachment tab.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s use of government employees and taxpayer-funded resources to create a self-promoting video attacking Democrats and other political opponents probably violated federal law, government watchdogs said Friday.

The video is part of a highly unorthodox Defense Department messaging campaign that debuted on social media Thursday, as Hegseth stepped up efforts to save his job after Republicans’ historic collapse in this week’s midterm elections.

It shows him outside the Pentagon as he criticizes former president Joe Biden along with members of Congress from both political parties who have called for him to resign or be fired. Over roughly six minutes, Hegseth also defends the unpopular Iran war, extols perceived accomplishments in office and heaps praise on his boss, President Donald Trump.

Hegseth’s office confirmed Friday that the video was recorded and produced by Defense Department staff, but declined to address questions about cost and whether it was reviewed for compliance with the federal government’s legal and ethical guidelines.

“The pro-Trump and self-laudatory remarks in the video are clear violations of the ban on using federal funds for propaganda, the specific and repeated mentions of funding bills violates the anti-lobbying statute, and the blatant effort to oppose the Democrats’ agenda for accountability is a potential violation of the Hatch Act,” said Donald K. Sherman, president of the nonpartisan government accountability organization Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington. (Washington Post)

Well, Miller has been SCROTUS's #1 butt-licker since 2015 - always in the background, never front and center. He's been biding his time until he ass-ended into this number 1 spot in the administration. One thing to keep in mind; he was not installed going into this second term, he's only getting in there as the TrumpX rocket finally crashes like the flaming pile of crap that is, hard into the Gulf of America; he'll have, at best, 7 weeks to sew chaos before the new Congress comes a knockin'. Given the Miller Stench is all over the attacks in the Caribbean and the ICE detention centers, I suspect his time, and Trumps, are going to be severely truncated.

I wonder if JD is going to push for that 25th Amendment thing in the next weeks that he surely has swirling around his bloated noggin?

Remember when Stephen Miller spent two weeks plus all up in his feels because Rep. Ocasio-Cortez said Miller acted like he was 4 foot 10 and mad at the world for being 4 foot 10?

https://www.wonkette.com/p/jesse-watters-drags-aoc-into-gross

Anyway...

"I want to thank Susie Wiles for the incredible job she did steering the ship around here the first two years of this administration."

Susie WIles, as far as I can tell, never actually did the job - and I doubt Stephen Miller will, either. Trump has only had one chief of staff who did the job, John Kelly, and Trump hated every minute of it.

For example, there's zero evidence Wiles ever "managed" Natalie Harp. Or Elmo. Or Stephen Miller.

"M"'s avatar

Elmo wasn't even on staff

Just like DOGE never was because they were never enabled by statute

Don't even get me started

Left Coast Tom's avatar

Elmo was on staff, as a "special governmental employee", reporting to Susie Wiles. That he never bothered to even tell her what he was doing was insubordination.

swmnguy's avatar

I wonder about that. I wonder if Wiles actually did restrain the worst of the guy and we never saw it because what's best of the guy is still so awful.

Jen's Big Blue Wave's avatar

Susie got the blame, but this fuck was deputy the entire time, which tells me he ran it but let her take the blame

Left Coast Tom's avatar

Except, there's little evidence he ever managed Natalie Harp or Elmo, either.

Jen's Big Blue Wave's avatar

I mean, lack of evidence does not make it so. There is no way Elno DOGED the government without Miller's tacit approval. Just don't see that being a thing

Dear lame duck congressional Republicans,

I know you're probably really upset about losing your races because of this administration's awful policies and probably looking for someone to lash out at. I see you, and I want to remind you that while you're still in office, you could do the best and funniest act of revenge and drop all of the Epstein files, go in with Dems to impeach the senile asshole who got you into this mess, investigate the smarmy little toadies who were behind the worst of his policies, and drag them out of office with you. I know some of you are hesitant, and think that your best path forward is to double down on women, minorities, queer folk, and the press, but that's what got you where you are now. I urge you to remember that the best way to make daddy stop beating you is to be brave and bold enough to grab the belt from him and whup his ass with it. And if you're brave and bold enough, you might save your party and maybe even get your job back.

I applaud your efforts at the same time I have historically-based doubts as to the slightest level of their efficacy
