I recommend switching to a thousand dollar-bottle of wine habit. Much more fulfilling.

I wonder what the Republican Party would look like if they worked for America rather than Russia.

They'd look more like Democrats, probably.

Did they find out that Smirnov was actually George Santos?

Ta, Gary. That a yahoo like Comer is in charge of Oversight, which was led superbly by my former Congresscritter Carolyn Maloney, is enough to make me cry. My new(ish) Congresscritter, Dan Goldman, is excellent, but NY's gerrymander is something we'll be recovering from for quite some time.

Good on you for pointing out the difference between Comey's nonsense and the righteous impeachment of Donald Trump.

Shouldn’t be a long wait if you vote in person this Nov. 30-40% of wypypo believe that Hunter Biden is the anti-Christ & JFK Jr. will usher in a new Rube Renaissance. With the resurrection of the 59 y.o. Malcolm X case, we’ll have 30-40% of blapypo going all β€˜it’s the Deep State’. And now, with Don Henley on the stand in the β€˜Hotel California’ lyricsgate, a not-insignificant % of old stoners will join the chorus: β€œVote? Why bother? You can’t trust any of these gummint mofos - can’t you see it?!?!”

I'm kind of surprised that Comer isn't going with the line that Jesse Watters, and I guess the other Fox talking heads (they never disagree on anything), used the day after Smirnov was indicted: Biden's weaponized DOJ is trying to shut him up.

Could it possibly be that Comer somehow got a look at the evidence against Smirnov and realized, 𝘨𝘢𝘭𝘱, that he'd better cut this dude loose 𝘳π˜ͺ𝘨𝘩𝘡 𝘯𝘰𝘸?

Well he did the best he could do, adding some FUD against Joe Biden, anything that's an excuse - even flimsy - for so-called 'swing voters' to vote for President Klan Robe. "Dirtying" Biden up and causing some sadistic torment by attacking his only surviving son is part of the goal.

So, as twitter pointed out, our Congress initiated impeachment proceedings against the sitting President based on lies fed to them by Russian intelligence. Lies they most certainly knew were lies at the time, because they're the same lies that Russian intelligence has been feeding them for almost a decade. And the national media is just going to report on it like it's a horse-race.

Jeezus shit, we *want* to lose.

Well the owners of the media do, I think. After all, you can't maintain the status quo of wealth concentrated in the hands of a few (theirs) and white patriarchy if you go around letting people like Joe Biden and Democrats win, now can you?

Now is the time for Comer to be silent. Don't say a word about either Biden. Something new will come forward by mid-summer. Should he win reelection he should give up the committee chair and sit on the backbenches. Issue a proclamation about Kentucky bourbon and that horse race they love.

Who would have thought that chasing out of office all the semi-competent Republicans just because they refuse to bow down to the proven rapist Defendant Trump would have consequences?

If Mitch McConnell had green-lighted the second Trump conviction, fresh after Jan. 6, it would probably have passed. And we would be free of Trump now.

McConnell bears the responsibility as much or more than any other single individual for the continued malignancy that is Donald Trump. I hope someone he'll listen to has the nerve to tell him that to his face.
