I have difficulty understanding how anyone could criticize Joe Biden, who is guilty of nothing except being old, and has no specific allegations of wrongdoing at all, now that this “FBI informant” is a bust, but they are fine with Trump being guilty of sexual assault; dozens of other allegations of sexual misconduct; 2 impeachments for obvious reasons; inspiring and instigating a coup attempt; spreading The Big Lie which cost his doners $250 million (most of which Trump pocketed), and Fox News $787 million, and Rudy G $148 million and his career and law license, along with numerous criminal charges for the fake electors scheme; plus 4 indictments for criminal activity. Plus, he spouts the most ugly, vile rhetoric. Biden is simply an old guy, a decent man and actual catholic. It’s baffling.
I’m waiting for the GOP to attack the FBI, alleging this is PUNISHMENT for the “whistle blower” coming forward about Biden. With the truth becoming more and more difficult to pin down, or be accepted by both sides of a deeply divided nation, we cannot allow bad actors like Russia, Bannon, Hannity and those who make money off spreading misinformation to thrive. Autocrats like Putin have their political opponents jailed or killed. As a free democracy, we should at least insist that our elected officials be held accountable for spreading baseless lies and misinformation. If we can’t insist on the truth from both sides of the aisle, our nation will continue to grow weaker. I’m convinced that Donald Trump is never potus if both campaigns had been virtually free of misinformation. The irony is that Trump would actually have been far better off. These $450 million in verdicts probably wouldn’t have happened. Not because they are “political” cases, but because the spotlight, and the harm Trump caused, brought more intense scrutiny, attention and incentive for action. And, obviously Trump doesn’t draw 4 indictments for election fraud, insurrection and stealing classified documents and covering it up. He’d have lost, boosted his profile a bit, and returned to The Apprentice. HRC would have won, been an amazing president and most people would be better off. She’d be finishing her second term. It’s such a cruel twist of fate.
