Exactly - they receive very little in the way of discipline or parental modelling of good behavior and during their formative years, they are mostly raised by nannies and assorted employees, none of whom have the authority or probably even interest in doing the work it takes to instill a child with a moral compass and empathy for others. When their parents do pay attention to them, it's either overly effusive praise to make up for the lack of quality time spent with them, criticism of any normal childlike behavior that deviates from the perfect princeling ideal expected from such scions of 'good breeding' or a flurry of denial and mitigation of consequences when the child does something horrendous.They grow up confused and angry because they don't understand why they're being told that they are precious perfect little angels who deserve the best of everything but they feel shitty and unwanted when they realize the people who are supposed to love them have fobbed them off to servants because they have better things to do and the people who actually take care of them only do it because they're paid...Add that deep-seated unhappiness and chronic mistrust of people to a stiff dose of entitlement and self-absorption and you've got yourself a budding sociopath.
