I have a picture of a labrador retriever I used to have with a bunny head in his mouth (my dog was not the cause of the bunny's demise, let's make that clear) and I sent it out as an Easter card: "Due to unfortunate circumstances, Easter has been cancelled this year."
My Christian brother was not amused, but everyone else thought it was hilarious.
I'm with you Rebecca, I voted for prop 1 and am glad it's passing. Jerry Brown is indeed a wise man, he would have been a great president but I digress.. This prop was interesting in that the appeal of a tax on the rich to pay for some mental healthcare and addiction treatment for those in need is a positive for many voters. On the other hand many of those who are fine with the tax, may also be negatively influenced by the dire warnings of this just being another prison for the "police state" to lock up undesirables. Easy choice for me as I've been living in CA most of my life and it's way past time to start helping those who can't help themselves.
Jaysus, that Mississippi (goddam) cop story. How fucking stupid are police agencies that don't know that having a group calling themselves "the Goon squad" is a sign that things are very wrong and you probably need to fire everyone and start over?
Welp...we've made the big time. We're in freaking Breitbart.
High Schoolers Walk Out as Adults Push Transgenderism
The counterprotest was organized by Defense of Democracy, a nonprofit organization that claims its goal is to “educate the public about the value of inclusivity and the importance of emotional and physical safety for all individuals within the American public-school and library systems.”
You know, when high schoolers do protests and walk-outs in defense of transgender rights, there aren't any adults or nonprofit organizations involved in planning and executing those things.
The walkout was against trans rights. We were a counter-protest, since this is at the local school where the founder's kids are students. But yeah, I'm sure there was someone else's involvement in the actual walkout. The student that claimed to be terrified spoke at the school board meeting. That was convenient.
Brilliant Republican congressman thwarts the Swamp's dastardly attempted deception of releasing the omnibus funding bill under cover of darkness. The Republic is saved!
I remember a Republican tax cut for the rich proposal that didn't give the members even that much time to read it and included hand-written addendums in the margins.
Everybody always goes to what a bad businessman Musk is when they start on X. X wasn't designed to make money like a common, everyday business. X is an investment in the future. X is designed to make Nazi thought, if not attractive to the masses, inevitable.
Being an apartheid trust fund baby, he's using brute force. What else did he see growing up. No finesse or nuance to try to entice some of the fencesitters in. Make it so much a part of everyone's everyday lives that they can't help but believe that a lot of people, almost everyone, it seems, thinks like this.
Trouble is, he needs to actually have more non-Nazis patronize the site if he's going to normalize Nazi thought. And all the Nazi thought is keeping that from happening.
Bring Chicago Home was a well-intentioned but poor way to raise funds to help the homeless. Many small businesses and small apartment buildings would have been affected by the tax increase. Apartment building owners would have passed on tax increases to renters. The funds were supposed to help the homeless, but there’s no guarantee that that’s where the funds would go.
That Mississippi Goon Squad story is fucking unbelievable. I read about it when it first happened and couldn't get past the fact that these cops thought they could get away with it. I suppose because cops have gotten away with so many crimes that it doesn't occur to them that they will ever face consequences. Also the supposedly good cops will always cover up for the bad cops so what makes them "good" cops? Also reading about it makes you think "nah, this didn't happen in this century, right?" And yet it did. Sometimes you have to wonder have we made any progress at all?
Yo, Wonkers. 11am is the start of the congressional gold medal ceremony for the ghost army of ww2. Should be on several networks going by the press setup.
Re. courtroom arrest of Michigan fake elector's lawyer in the Dominion defamation case: I cannot express how much I envy Dominion's lawyers. This is just so much fun. And 20 years from now, one of those lawyers will write a book about and sell the movie rights and will retire on that money.
Mvario found the cute little animation in your hed gif. Source info: https://open.substack.com/pub/martiniambassador/p/hot-diggidy-dog
Am I the only one whose mind immediately went to John Travolta singing "Sandy" in Grease?
My mind went to the "let's all go to the lobby" jingle that played at the drive-in between movies
I have seen other cartoons done by Freud Animation Studios also too.
They are all awesome!
I used to use a smaller clip of that for Sunday dollar dog days at the ballpark.
Perfect use!
Dogs and buns. It is an eternal story.
😉
Plate of shrimp? It’s all part of the cosmic unconsciousness.
I have it on good authority that Bunnez know a bit about hot doĝgin'.
It's not Easter yet, silly!! Bunnies are dying eggs.
I hope they're dyeing, not dying. If the bunnies and the eggs die between now and Easter, it will mess everything up.
LOL, me too!

Your brother needs to lighten up. It was hilarious.

(MK12 presents Follow The Sun! Popcorn for all! Hell is on its way!)
That was nuts!
That was crazy, but quite well-done.
Imagine a gallery full of hopelessly square German art nerds at an opening, and *that's* how you start the show. They were not prepared!
(I wrote MK12 and got permission to show it; they were very cool)

House Republicans Want to Ban Universal Free School Lunches

> The Republican Study Committee’s annual budget also calls to permanently defund UNRWA and eliminate the National Labor Relations Board.
Tiedrich is best.
Thank Jeebus Muskrat isn’t eligible to run for president. I don’t think I could stand another entitled little PAB in office.

Narrator: Of course, there were no adults pushing "transgenderism".

I should have included a source a little less biased than Breitbart: https://spectrumlocalnews.com/nys/central-ny/news/2024/03/18/john-jay-transgender-bathroom-protest

If you enjoy reading articles that have zero respect for Elon Musk (and I know you do) https://futurism.com/ is on the beat.

Just regarding the article about the Mississippi "Goon Squad"...
Holy mother-forking shirtballs. Those weren't just some bad cops. I don't think even "sadists in uniform" fits; they're absolute monsters.
Bring Chicago Home was a well-intentioned but poor way to raise funds to help the homeless. Many small businesses and small apartment buildings would have been affected by the tax increase. "Rankin County District Attorney Bubba Bramlett.." you can't make this sh*t up.
William Faulkner novel demands its character back!
If you want to see a great example of why contemporary art is a total scam, look no further than Damien Hirst
Don't forget Jeff Koons.
That guy sux too.
