Not trying to exonerate anyone, but the way it happened was more complicated. A map was drawn that was pretty good. It was contested in court and a partisan GOP judge threw it out. That dragged out for months and by the time a new map was drawn, the court required that it be approved in record time with very little oversight and no public comment because the primaries were about to happen.
This was also in the midst of the Cuomo scandal and ouster, so people who should have been paying more attention weren't. I didn't learn that my new district was drawn to force Jerry Nadler and Carolyn Maloney to compete. That should have been a huge red alert.
Y’know, after I wrote that, I thought, hey. Maybe I’m full of shit. And so I did some reading, and I came to the conclusion that yes, I am mostly full of shit.
Understandably, I think, I transferred my anxiety about wife’s condition upon a genuinely surprising encounter with cops (even though rented). Until yesterday, I had no idea ERs even used scanner checkpoints. I blame my innocence on not having maimed myself for some time.
I did, however, find that the joint was not necessarily following best practices, as the best practices people like to say. I’m not going to get into some of it because it was just me being stupid.
But I find two of those neglected best practices might make a difference: one to have a huge sign outside that says SECURITY CHECKPOINT in flashing letters (because most folks racing into an ER have other things on their minds); and to include some kind of privacy screening.
Sure, that will cancel the live performances for those in the waiting room, who otherwise sitting around worrying that they might die, but we have to make some sacrifices to maintain security.

As such, Steuben County Acting Supreme Court Justice Patrick McAllister, who is a friend of PURE EVIL Carl Paladino*,chose a special master who would redistrict NY-23 such that the eastern part of NY-26 (containing the eastern parts of Erie and Niagara Counties) was added to it.
It was NO coincidence as Paladino, who was once a Buffalo resident, had moved to a suburb in eastern Eric County.As such, Paladino was able to run in the Republican primary fro NY-34 which would have put this EXTREME BIGOT in the House.Fortunately, the voters in NY-23 chose another Republican who wom the seat
