So I am awake in the night for the nicest of reasons. No not that. One of the nicest reasons.
Serendipity the Eldercat woke herself up, crying a while ago. She does that sometimes, Awakens from a bad dream, or awakens disoriented, as if she is lost and alone. The first few times she did that it was just terrifying wail of sorrow, but tonight it was just kind of bewilderment.
And I was half awake, so I got up pretty quickly, but Gryffn was next to me in bed, and she shot out like a rocket, and went to her. Serendipity raised the two kittens up by hand, and taught them to be very, very good cats, but she tolerates few overt displays of affection from them. And yet, when she is in need of support, they come running and go to her and try to comfort her.
Serendipity needed or wanted about 15 minutes of solid cuddling, but she was purring and happy for most of it. Came on here to say that I really love being part of this funny household.
There are a couple of people here who love to point out that if I died, they would eat my face. So deeply suspicious are they of cats that they probably think a couple of strange cats would turn up at the feast as well. The only thing I find distressing about that idea is that they would be afraid and alone and uncared for. I wouldn’t begrudge them a cheek or two.
I kinda loved the idea of a band called Dead Cat Bounce. Like I would start one if there weren’t one but turns out there was... Irish comedy troupe slash band; sounds like mostly defunct some ten years though did a réunion in 2017...
... like of course a band called Dead Cat Bounce has to have a reunion.

Down below I saw the discussion about cults. It is probably a good time to disclose that I was once in a cult 40 years ago. Like Scientology, this one had well known celebrities. Florence Henderson was at the very top of the hierarchy. I was in the Cult of Wessonality.
