Let's not forget the campaign gift of the price tag Tennessee taxpayers now get to pay for the special elections that are going to confirm the cost of expelling two men for being black for at least a week.

Can't really worry about that...I think of it like a car..It will never run the rest of its life on one tank of gas...you gotta keep refilling it...This incident will merely be part of a cumulative campaign to rid ourselves of RW garbage...EVERYTHING we do has a shelf life...Its more abut keeping the fight going

Wonder if the Rethugs are dumb enough to believe that the expulsion and return of the two Black representatives are events people will forget in less than a year?

How soon until the taxpayers of Tennessee learn how much they're going to have to pony up for special primary and general elections to achieve the same thing if the Republicans hadn't expelled them in the first place?

They have a lot of charisma. I think they will find ways to keep showing up in the spotlight now that they have been seen.

Another slight miscalculation on their part. With the law requiring a special primary election in 55-60 days and a special general election in 100-107 days, it's doubtful this fiasco will be memory-holed by 2024.

Remember when R's made bank in 2010 blaming the number of jobs lost in the Great Recession on the D's? Every Tennessee Dem running for office needs to put the cost of those special elections in every piece of campaign material.

From that same town back in the 80's.

A guy was taking care of his three kids between the ages of 3 and 5. They were engrossed in a cartoon, so he figured he could run down to the corner for a pack of smokes. They had a console-style TV next to the front door with a loaded shotgun laying on top of it for protection. Before he left, he told the three kids, "Don't you touch that gun."

Hilarity did not ensue.

Followed by a nice tab to the citizenry for the special elections they'll no doubt easily win.
