My condolences. I think a lot of people will find out that the only thing worse than the NI H is not having the NIH. I'll do some reading, but I can't believe that you are headed towards a system where the poor will get NO healthcare. It just seems unthinkable to me that any country would go in that direction after having single payer healthcare.
I read a little more, (Wikipedia mind you) and it does sound like Republican style destruction 1. Underfund the system2. Complain that the underfunded system doesn't work, because people just aren't "efficient "3. Destroy or privatize the system because it "doesn't work" and refuses to operate "efficiently " no matter how little money you give it.

I replied but meant to say NHS. we are defunding the NIH here, which seems even more insane.
