Yeah I think they also underestimate how much stagnant wages and skyrocketing cost of living has impacted millennials and younger. Most of us are also grappling with student debt plus a lack of affordable housing and healthcare. We saw how the conservatives of decades past eroded the social safety net and oversaw a massive redistribution of wealth from the middle and bottom to the top.
Even setting the social justice issues aside (which are definitely important), the economic "policies" of the right since Reagan have had a significant negative impact on people 40 and younger.
Here in Omaha about two weeks ago, there was a walkout by students at several high schools to protest the anti-trans bill in the Unicameral (the one that the awesome Machaela Cavanaugh was fillibustering).
One of the students from Westside High School told a local reporter:
"People that are passing these laws need to realize that they're going to die soon," he said. "When they die, they'll have nothing but a terrible legacy left behind and they're just trying to get as much power in as little time as possible."
"we got some work to do on the young people who think differently on abortion perhaps, guns, or climate change.." The newest summer session survey at the Hillsdale College of the South.
