Andor is amazing and I will stand by that. Andor is everything that Star Wars could be without all the Force stuff and has so many scary parallels for the times in which we currently live.
Andor is currently showing how the Rebellion is building because of the way that the Empire is slowly crushing the people within it's grasp. Andor is so good.
I finished watching Andor and it's showing the birth of the Rebellion. It's so damn good. If anyone is burnt out on Star Wars it's so good you really won't need to remember it's Star Wars it's an amazing drama all by itself.
I had a lot of people on other lefty political blog mad at be because I said I voted for Feinstein over De Leon in 2018. My reason was his attempt to remove whistleblower protections for people claiming sexual harassment in the CA lege when he was Senate president. His attempt to blame Feinstein for outing Christine Blasey Ford didn't improve my opinion of him. Feinstein should have retired years ago, but replacing her with a guy who really didn't seem to consider sexual harassment a big deal except when he could use it to score political points seemed like a bad deal.
Turns out he's an all-around asshole. I'm glad he's not a senator.
The tribalism in LA City Council politics these days has become disastrous. The size of the pie is fixed and maybe even shrinking and every group wants a bigger slice. The conflict between the black community (roughly 9% of the city but holding 3 of the 15 Council seats) and greater Latino community (roughly 50% of the population but with only 5 of the 15 seats) has gotten more intense and bitter over the years I have lived here. Add to the mixture a series of financial scandals that have taken down a couple of popular Latino pols and you have a volatile situation that gets worse by the day. It's truly a disaster.
de Leon has been a pretty heavy hitter in CA politics, no doubt he is not very happy with seeing what he felt was a promising career go into the shitter, but honestly it's his own fault.
His "promising career" is going into the shitter because he's refused to own up to his own problematic behavior.
It wasn't at all surprising to me to hear him say "something something progressive something something." Too many of these so-called progressives are just unrepentant, entitled assholes.
"Doesn't start fistfights with constituents in front of children while wearing a Santa hat" is not a high bar. Bloody hell, even Trump clears that one.
Backstory on his 2018 run for Feinstein's Senate seat: https://en.wikipedia.org/wi...It stuns me that the Dem party endorsed him after that abysmal showing in the primary AND the fact that the parties are (both) so mobbed up. An incumbent in the hand is ALWAYS preferable to a challenger with just 12% of the primary vote.

That's just Yankee propaganda to distract from Wisconsin and other places.
Kevin is the male Karen.
Sure, she's cute but the character was the very definition of a Mary Sue.

It would appear that he sits on a throne of lies, whatever the precise circumstances of the Yuletide Smackdown.

can't they fire him? isn't there a behaviour clause for elected officials?
IRL he probably had his hands up so De Leon couldn't say he had a gun or knife...
it's just a jump to the left...
