I won't lie. I don't understand all this gender stuff. But, I my defense, other people's gender classifications/preferences are none of my damned business. I will call you whatever you want, and treat you like a human being no matter what.

Robyn, I enjoyed reading this even though I have no idea who most of these folks are. And that says something, as usually I’m lost when my cousins start discussing theater. An excellent run-down of a history making night. Thanks!

A "froot loop," in gay parlance, is a periodic stroll around a gay bar to see if anyone new has arrived to cruise. As in, "Pretty dead here tonight. I'm gonna do one more froot loop and then head home." It probably has other slang meanings, too.

I didn't see the play, but just the idea of Wendell Pierce from The Wire being Loman in Death of a Salesman had me rooting for him.

Jerry/Daphne actually experiences a revelation, realizing that she actually is trans, and it is hinted that she will remain Daphne after the curtain closes.

I’ve definitely seen a lot of fans headcanon that for the original movie. Glad to know it’s canon for the stage version.

Instead of gender-based awards for songs, I wonder if the categories could be for the best soprano, alto, tenor, and bass performance. Not sure about non-singing though.
