Listen what about FREDDIE GRAY? He had a very long ordeal. Injured when pinned for a mistaken reason, handcuffed and thrown into police vehicle and then for some reason driven around in that vehicle, not secured but just I guess yelling for his inhaler and in pain with his broken back-- begging to be taken to a hospital which led to his being put in leg irons. While four or five policemen ran their errands. He died in hosp. and nothing was done till after violent riots. Then four were charged and all acquitted. It's not immunity exactly but it wouldn't have happened that way except that the DA was pushed into charging them I guess, by public disorder. Those acquittals were so depressing.

It will matter if their pals are encouraged and also forced to stop them. That will just become the climate. If the records of each cop become public, that will also change the climate. These will become a matter of shame, tho it mightn't seem so. If you aren't getting away with your toughness it doesn't really count as power, I dont' think.

You mean Clarence? I don't think he thinks he's related to George Floyd in any way. Or ever could be. He's avoided the entire thing with every breath he's taken since 1962. That is, if you're talking about Clarence Thomas, the porn-oriented supreme court judge.

Even just a broad and firm attitude that "clearly established" should be interpreted... reasonably, instead of the current hyperattentive nitpicking that attempts to make every case its own particular special snowflake, and therefore immune, would be a vast improvement.

I didn’t say they were related. I said Thomas could have ended up like Floyd.

Police officers need to be held personally legally accountable for their actions.

If the question is shape up or get fired, I think most will shape up. Fire the rest.

Bad actors need to get fired and not hired on somewhere else. I actually think some protection should be allowed for cops - but not to the death or maiming of anyone else.

Texas. Shooting the dog is a calling card for our local DEA task force, who operate on the fringes of the law. If they accuse you of something, you're going to prison, because you won't even find a lawyer in this county to represent you, and if you do, they'll tell you to give it up and plead.

I think "privacy" is too broad. Are you talking about abortion, internet browsing, or home decorating?

It wasn't enforceable until the Army rode in.

I've heard Texas heard the same time as everyone else, but slaves couldn't change anything and the owners didn't want to change.
