Some pretty strong storms ripped through just north of here last night. Several homes destroyed and a metal shed was picked up by a tornado, then dropped on some power lines, causing a mass outage.
Some of the rural Georgia folks are really suffering this morning - it's terrible.
So here is a weird thing: Hubby got a new car and the state sent his plates via UPS. And he had to sign for them.
Hubby is home all day. He said the guy came and left the note on the door that they missed him and did not even knock. Instead, they delivered the thing he had to sign for to a local book shop in town.
Who then called him to come pick up his plates.
Said book store is NOT a UPS drop point, our town is too small to rate one, though the drop box is outside their place on the sidewalk so close enough I guess?
Assuming the driver was way behind time, but he did not even knock and there was a car right there in the drive, so.,.......
Full disclosure: This is what I most recently did for a corporate gig, but that was 2010. I was the UPS person on the other end of the phone who helped straighten out issues like this. This almost sounds like 2 diff things going on,. If he left the delivery notice (assuming it's sig required, being the state), there's no reason I can think of that it should've been left at the book store - sig or not. The bookstore part sounds like a straight misdelivery - like it got mixed in with their packages...unless your town is SO small that the driver knows you, and maybe thought that there's a connection there. Thankfully I was out just as things like Mail Innovations were starting, so I realize things have changed.
In any event, the bad news for the consignee is: Even tho Brown is delivering a package to you, and you paid for UPS shipping? You are NOT UPS's customer. Their customer is the shipper, the company or person who sent the package. They pay UPS, and in turn collect from their customers the shipping charges (which they are free to mark up as much as they want).
Send MTG with him for moral support. See how long it takes for her to get locked up after an outburst. Maybe even a run and flying tackle attempt on the judge.
>>The current language does not include religion as a protected category — though religion is already protected in the Minnesota Constitution’s Bill of Rights — and some groups view the amendments’ protection of abortion rights and LGBTQ individuals as infringing on their religious freedom.<<
It infringes on their "right" to infringe on others' rights.
[The "Equal Rights Amendment" is a ballot issue to protect reproductive and LGBTQ rights in Minnesota.]
The whole religious freedom/liberty arguments are running out of steam. They've been asked and answered in almost every state, and found to be utter bollocks. The reversal of Roe vs. Wade seems to be a one-time fuck up, and now most states are enacting all inclusive rights and bodily autonomy legislation.
How is it even fair if we can't discriminate because of our religion?
Listen, fucksticks, you can discriminate all you want IN your stupid religious services. Just not in hiring or renting or selling or buying things, which are NOT religious things.
If they accept prayer as a form of payment, I'm OK if they discriminate with the cakes or pizzas or bouquets. But in exchange for ameros, everyone gets served equally.
Today in "shit I didn't want to deal with" - the bus I was taking out of town yesterday drove on by and didn't even stop. So I had to wait until this morning for the next one. What fun. at least Peter Pan just issued a refund.

We used to volunteer at the Florida Folk Festival every year. We stopped because my mom and a musician friend both died the same year (my mom and step-dad also volunteered), but we were about to quit because Memorial Day is so iffy, even in White Springs. More and more years it was blazing hot and not fun camping.
Besides contradicting trump's claim that he never had sex with her, it's not complementary towards trump's sexual "prowess." In fact, it disses his sexuality. He had to lure her up to his room, and her description of the encounter is just ewww.....

They do that shit all the time, or various services do. I guess to save time.
It's done to improve profits. Even if customers suffer in the process.

This sort of thing could backfire.
Send MTG with him for moral support. See how long it takes for her to get locked up after an outburst. Maybe even a run and flying tackle attempt on the judge.
Of course they are.
They are not there for moral support. They are there to tweet out the bullshit as fast as they can and do the witness intimidation for him
No one is there for moral support, not even his family, or they would be there every day. Only Eric has shown up, and only twice. It's pathetic.
Interestingly, I haven't read many social posts by Batboy or Kenny G(uilty). Maybe I'm not looking in the right places?
Think they're doing it on Truth and what not, so the rabid fans get the info without the spotlight of twitter or book facing.
Least I recall someone yesterday posting some "truths" from some of his "supporters"
I'd heard, but can't prove, that Trump completely ignored Batboy when he walked by him yesterday.

Today in "shit I didn't want to deal with" - the bus I was taking out of town yesterday drove on by and didn't even stop. So I had to wait until this morning for the next one. What fun. at least Peter Pan just issued a refund.
So here I sit, waiting for the next 20 minutes.
Hope your Saturday is significantly better.
I see Peter Pan hasn't improved their service since I was at UConn Storrs and they were the *only* bus out for the weekends.
Nope! That was my last option for the day yesterday and it just.....drove on by.
It's Friday.
Whew
Been a long week.
Also still no edit function? Wtf is this app?
The phone app for slobstack sucks donkey balls. I just use a browser on my phone
I'd need to remember my credentials for that....bah. I'll manage until I can break out the laptop.
They'll let you email a link in ^.^ At least they do me when I get bored and use a work computer for not working
Understood!
Must see TV: excellent recap of the day:
Lawrence O'Donnell: "Why Trump's lawyer called him the 'orange turd' during Stormy testimony"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBJndkfzNuo
"MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell explains how Donald Trump’s lawyer Susan Necheles attempted to mischaracterize Stormy Daniels’ description of Donald Trump as the “orange turd” and how Stormy Daniels saw through this line of questioning."
The thing that is getting me is that the lawyers keep complaining that testimony is prejudicial to their client and influencing the jury and I am all...is that not what testimony is even for?
Even better was when Turd's lawyers asked that he be granted the right to respond to Stormy's testimony. Judge denied the request.
Q is, why is the Turd not responding in court? There is no gag order if he testifies under oath.
What to do in the dead zone between finishing Squardle and the appearance of the blessed tabs? I could do some work, but I don't wanna.

From Massachusetts.
We'll see how they hold up sitting on the patio watching the birbs on Lake Humidity.. there is always a nice breeze, but still it's SoFL.
.
too, also, one spouse is vegetarian-but-not-really, diabetic, and keto.. So my culinary (or takeout) skills are gonna be sorely tested.

but the week after we escape north.
I had rain here, several days ago. For five minutes.
Best rain probability is next Monday, according to the weather-prognosticars.
Yeah, Summer here at Chez Wanderer as well, also, too.
I am heading out that way next week. Going to visit my dad in Melbourne.
I grew up around there, you know. Mel Hi 1980!
My Dad is also still around there.
I can't believe you are 16 Years older than I am!
It's astounding! Time is fleeting.

Oh yeah, I think I knew that! It's really beautiful down there. I wanted to move to Sebastian.

The OJ defence. "If I Did It".

It only lasted seconds and he has a tiny peen. Pretty sure I just blanked out and let it happen.

These people have the lowest of lowest possible bars
Also, his lawyer's sleazy but predictable attack against her was basically that she does it with anyone.
It's why they insist on keeping mining going. They need somewhere to set their bar.

How you you choose names for characters?
Would you think worse of me if I replied that I pull the names out of thin air, magazines, the news, etc.?
I'm still waiting for Cletus the possum who, despite his name and bumpkin upbringing, grows into a very successful attorney, race car driver, and jet setter.
I think he changes his name.
Yeah, to Fukui.
LOL
LOL
Cletus Daniels, 46, born Chattanooga TN. Graduate U of Tennessee Law; inherited the family business (a big box store chain). Races Indycar as a hobby.
Chattanooga might be too cosmopolitan ...
Big city, which includes the Lookout Mountain area. I ain't putting him anywhere Hogwaller Holler, though - them Watts don't hold with no Danielses up around their land.
(The Watt Family are also opossums.)
No, that's what I would do, too.
I'll generate characters entirely at random.
Why furrys? 😂😎
Why not?

I know a lot of people at RedHat.
The only part of this that might stick is the FMLA thing. IBM doesn't screw around with this stuff.
Also, RedHat has no shortage of people who are slugs that exist solely due to inertia. Some chance this guy is one of them.
But IANAL.
I, too, have a number of colleagues at RH. Many have left, as RH get IBM-ized. The do-nothing slugs are still there ... doing nothing: why chnage jobs when I can get a fat paycheck for basically doing jack shit?
A vast, right wing conspiracy
Litigation against IBM/RedHat is going to be very expensive. IBM has bled much larger opponents.
The point is not to win these things necessarily. The point is to keep suing and suing until the big companies get sick of it, and the little companies get too scared.
